The Boom Bap Show, hosted by DJ Ronsha and G-Zon, stands as one of the flagship programmes on Scientific Sound Asia. Dedicated to preserving the core spirit of authentic Hip-Hop, the weekly broadcast delivers a carefully selected mix of Boom Bap, Underground Hip-Hop, and Rap.

It serves as a platform for both established legends and emerging artists, contributing to Scientific Sound Asia’s reputation as a respected radio station, DJ agency, and event promoter with an audience stretching across Asia and beyond.

G-Zon has been a pivotal figure in the Paris rap scene since the 1980s, widely recognised for his role in advancing the French Boom Bap movement. His enduring partnership with DJ Ronsha led to the formation of La Meute, a collective celebrated for its raw beats and uncompromising lyricism.

Together, they have remained committed to the foundations of Hip-Hop while finding new ways to innovate and inspire. One of their most notable achievements was the release of Danse Avec Les Loups, featuring collaborations with acclaimed French artists such as 20SYL (Hocus Pocus, C2C) and Black M (Sexion d’Assaut).

The project expanded La Meute’s reach to a global audience while maintaining its underground credibility. Based in Paris, DJ Ronsha is known for his precise production style and encyclopaedic music knowledge, curating each show to bridge the gap between Hip-Hop’s golden era and its evolving sound.

Together, DJ Ronsha and G-Zon have built more than a radio show; they have created a movement that unites Hip-Hop fans across generations and cultures, ensuring the genre’s history and future remain intertwined.

This episode begins with uMaNg & B.B.Z Darney’s Summer Wars, rich with cuts by DJ Grazzhoppa, before Raekwon and Frank G’s Bear Hill adds classic East Coast storytelling. Dell-P & Trac-Qaeda’s Win Zone pushes positive lyricism, while Circle Of Native Vibes highlight artistry with Art And Science. Eccentrak and Skyzoo’s Treat Wins Like Souvenirs carries lyrical depth, contrasting with Cliff Cloudz & Nivrock’s Winner’s League, which leans on underground boom bap grit.

Momentum builds as Raekwon joins Inspectah Deck and Carlton Fisk for Pomogranite, a Wu-Tang family affair. JFliz & Hilltop Productions deliver raw cypher energy on Knuckle Up Buckle Down, and Halfcut & Cole The God intensify with Green Stacks. MotionPlus & NikkuuBeats bring layered production on Basic Complex and Legacy, while Above The Clouds balance faith and fire on Beware The Ops. The set deepens with Tranzformer & Big O’s Culmination, carrying sharp verses from L.O.U. and P-Rawb.

The midsection keeps the pressure on with Roc Marciano and DJ Premier’s Good To Go, a highlight of East Coast craftsmanship. Lazarus, Rakim, and Dem Jointz’s Not To Be Defined follows with conscious precision, while UFO Fev & Big Ghost Ltd’s Scarlet Fever strikes hard with Red Inf. Grind Mode Cypher’s Slaine (Remix) extends the underground posse cut tradition, balanced by Isaiah Irahkiev & M-Dot’s Stones. Mad1ne & DJ Proof keep the scratches sharp with On Point, before Napoleon Da Legend shows versatility with OGUN and Yellow Fever.

Later highlights include Leaf Dog’s Magic featuring BVA, blending UK underground with traditional boom bap energy. Mike Titan & Silent Someone’s Reality Bites balances darker tones, while Eccentrak & Nowaah The Flood sharpen the conscious edge with Back In Order. Raekwon returns on The Guy That Plans It, a reminder of his storytelling mastery. Hanzo Bladez, Mickey Bourbon, and Lace Fueg’s Jawbreaker adds hardcore menace, countered by Substance810 & Observe’s Bulletproof Soul, which blends soul vocals with street realism.

The set closes heavy: Cas Metah & AG Flux unite with Bizzy Bone for Lots Of Vain Expectations, followed by Apollo Brown & Bronze Nazareth’s twin cuts Faded Pictures and Banshee Walk, blending cinematic beats with razor-sharp bars. Benny The Butcher & Nickel Plated’s Gold Plated Leica brings high-stakes narratives, before Realio Sparkzwell & Clypto cool things down with Peacefull. The finale, On Go by Reek Osama & Perutheproducer, ensures Boom Bap Show 54 signs off with a bang, tying together hardcore hip hop, boom bap grit, and East Coast authenticity that DJ Ronsha & G-Zon consistently deliver.
