Marco Mei, the seasoned Italian DJ and producer behind Bicycle Corporation, has unveiled the tracklist for his latest radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. As a key platform for electronic and urban music across Asia and beyond, Scientific Sound Asia continues to bridge global audiences with fresh underground talent and forward-looking sounds.
With a career spanning more than thirty years, Marco is known for his rhythmically rich and genre-blending DJ sets. His ability to fuse Afro-influenced grooves with contemporary electronic styles has earned him a strong international following and a reputation for delivering engaging high-energy performances.
Marco’s musical path began in the early 1990s in the record shops and underground clubs of Turin, Italy. Drawn to the sounds of House, Techno, and Afro rhythms, he became involved with the Urban People collective, a group that played a key role in shaping Italy’s electronic music culture through notable events and club nights.
His growing profile soon led to a pivotal residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, which brought him international recognition. From there, he went on to perform at major venues across the globe, including Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels, and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City. Each appearance has added to his credibility as a versatile and accomplished artist.
In 2009, Marco joined forces with fellow Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, to form Bicycle Corporation. Together, they have produced over 50 original tracks and remixes across various genres, including House, Techno, French House, Deep House, and Tech House. Their releases have appeared on respected labels such as Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, GrooveTraxx, Suka, and Revox.
After relocating to Taipei in 2010, Marco became a central figure in the city's growing nightlife scene. His efforts helped shape the local electronic music community while expanding his reach throughout Asia. His performances continue to reflect a diverse cultural sensibility, blending influences with creativity and inclusivity.
In addition to his live sets, Marco hosts a long-running radio programme on Scientific Sound Asia. Each episode offers listeners a carefully curated musical experience, highlighting his deep knowledge and passion for electronic music. His radio shows maintain the same intensity and precision as his club performances.
With appearances across continents including Europe, Asia, and Africa, Marco Mei remains a respected advocate for electronic music. Through his work with Bicycle Corporation, his DJ sets, and his radio broadcasts, he continues to contribute meaningfully to the international dance music scene.
DJ Marco Mei opens Episode 22 with a gritty Techno remix of Season Of The Real by K-Alexi Shelby, followed by classic House from Marquis Hawkes and a punchy Tech House drop by Nicole Moudaber & Castion. Tiger Stripes supplies back-to-back grooves with A Dance and The Street, both deeply rooted in his signature percussive House style. The acid-tinged remix of Feel U Up At The Disco adds a throwback flavour before Wh0's dub version of Girls & Boys pushes the set further into club territory.
As the mix progresses, Tiger Stripes returns with Rockin', bringing a darker Tech House tone. Retro elements surface through Mike Francis’ 9Teen and Armando’s 100 Disin' Of You, the latter offering pure Classic House nostalgia. Nu Disco vibes unfold in Dirtyelements & Drunkdrivers’ Koko and two standout tracks from Adelphi Music Factory, providing a modern disco-funk aesthetic. Eli Escobar & Nomi Ruiz's Juice brings back a rich vocal House feel before the electro-tinged Nuper Sature by Bar:Low adds an unexpected twist.
The second half leans heavily into Nu Disco, highlighted by Solomun’s Love Recycled 4 and further enriched by deep edits of People From Ibiza and Cheri Cheri Lady. Antonio Grassia’s Club Dimension and Groove P’s collaboration with Adeva keep the House energy alive, leading into Roog’s reconstruction of Jazzin' The Way You Know, a standout moment for fans of jazzy House. Joint4Nine's Disco Dub mix adds texture before deeper, lo-fi tones arrive via Stefano Somma.
The finale blends melodic finesse with peak-time heat, including a deep and vocal-heavy closer from The Blessed Madonna. Jimi Jules & Black Coffee round out the set with Trippy Yeah, blending hypnotic grooves with melodic layers. From House to Nu Disco, with touches of Electro and Lo-Fi House, DJ Marco Mei showcases his cross-genre precision in another standout episode for Scientific Sound Asia.
Don't miss Marco Mei's live performance on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you can't tune in live, you can catch the replay on Wednesday from 6 to 8 AM ICT.
