Marco Mei, a renowned Italian DJ and producer associated with Bicycle Corporation, has recently shared the playlist for his forthcoming radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. This organisation specialises in hosting events and broadcasting electronic dance and urban music to extensive audiences across Asia, including countries such as Japan, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea and Sri Lanka, drawing electronic music enthusiasts from around the world.


With over thirty years in the music industry, Marco Mei is recognised for his energetic and varied DJing approach. Originally from Turin, Italy, he skilfully combines Afrocentric rhythms with contemporary electronic sounds. His compelling performances and extensive understanding of diverse musical styles allow him to create immersive listening experiences that resonate with global audiences.


Marco began his journey at record shops in Turin, where he explored the local Afrocentric, House and Techno music communities. Through merging these styles, he established a distinctive sound with the Urban People crew, playing a crucial role in organising major House and Techno events throughout the city, establishing his position as a key figure in Turin's underground music culture.


As Marco progressed professionally, he obtained a residency at the famous Pacha nightclub, representing a crucial turning point in his career. This position brought him to Egypt, where he developed his DJ abilities within the dynamic nightlife of Sharm-el-Sheikh. His sets gained international recognition, enabling him to showcase his unique sound at events worldwide.


Marco Mei is celebrated within the electronic music community for his skill in engaging audiences and energising dancefloors. His performances at prestigious venues, including G-Star in Thailand and Fuse in Belgium, have solidified his reputation, while his work with notable artists like David Morales has elevated his industry standing.


Marco and Stefano Ugliano, as Bicycle Corporation co-founders, have made a considerable impact on electronic music styles. They have worked together to produce more than fifty original tracks and remixes spanning genres including House, Techno, French House, Deep House and Tech-House, with their collaboration significantly influencing the international electronic music scene.


After relocating to Taipei, Taiwan, in 2010, Marco quickly established himself as a key player in the city's vibrant music environment. His performances at various venues have earned him a loyal following throughout Asia, with his influence continuing to expand. Through extensive touring across South Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe, he has become a global representative of electronic music.


Before the worldwide lockdowns, Marco took every opportunity to discover and participate in nightlife scenes internationally. His performances at venues such as Roots Taipei and events including the Electronic Roots series created lasting impressions on audiences, demonstrating his capacity to captivate crowds with his dynamic and creative performance approach.
