Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei, the creative force behind Bicycle Corporation, returns with a fresh instalment of his long-running radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. The station continues to serve as a hub for underground electronic and urban music across Asia, connecting international audiences through broadcasts, live events and its global artist network.
With a career extending over three decades, Marco has cultivated a sound defined by Afro-influenced rhythms, deep house roots and driving club energy. His natural rapport with the dancefloor, combined with seasoned experience and refined selection skills, has secured enduring respect throughout Europe, Asia and beyond.
Marco’s journey began in the early 1990s in Turin, where he became immersed in the city’s underground club culture. Inspired by house, techno and Afro-centric grooves, he co-founded the Urban People collective, contributing to Italy’s early electronic movement through independent events and forward-thinking parties beyond the mainstream.
A pivotal phase followed with a residency at Pacha in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, broadening his international reach and opening the door to performances at venues such as Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City, among many others.
In 2009, Marco partnered with fellow Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, known as 6884, to establish Bicycle Corporation. Since then, the duo have released more than fifty tracks and remixes across Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno on labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx. Their catalogue consistently merges dancefloor effectiveness with musical sophistication, earning steady support within the underground scene.
Now based in Taipei, Marco continues to play an influential role in the region’s electronic music landscape. Through his ongoing broadcasts on Scientific Sound Asia, he translates decades of club experience into thoughtfully curated sets that honour underground tradition while embracing contemporary club sounds.
The session opens with a burst of Main Floor intensity as It’s Warmer By The Trees sets an Uplifting Trance tone, bright and driving before easing into the stripped-back pulse of DRTY. From there, Gorge’s Come With Me settles the mood into Deep House territory, while The Pleasure Victim begins to introduce a tighter Tech House swing.
As the mix progresses, House becomes the dominant thread. Millions Pieces in the Malive remix and Forever In My Room bring melodic warmth and vocal depth, followed by the punchier energy of Paradise and Lick My Deck. Lupe’s Release It and Shenanigans maintain a steady groove, and Piknik alongside Positive Vibes reinforce a club-centred House focus with subtle rhythmic variations.
Disco and crossover influences surface strongly in the middle section. Love Is In The Air and Yoyo Disco in the Purple Disco Machine remix introduce Nu Disco colour, while the Peverell rework of Turn The Beat Around adds a Soulful House touch. The UK Garage rhythm of Dem Ready provides contrast before Same Man in the DERON rework shifts into darker Indie Dance territory.
The closing stretch leans confidently into Disco and Classic House. Comme Un Dragon and Gotta Have You sustain the House backbone before Way To Me and Just Can't Give You Up draw on Disco and Soul roots. Disco Dementia and Jack’n complete the journey with Classic House flavour, bringing episode 9 to a cohesive finish that bridges uplifting energy, groove-led House and Disco heritage.
DJ Marco Mei will perform live on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you can't catch it, the replay will be available on Wednesday from 6 to 8 AM (ICT).
