DJ Marco Mei of Bicycle Corporation returns with a new edition of his radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, while also publishing music news and connecting audiences across the region and internationally.
With more than three decades behind the decks, Marco Mei has developed a sound rooted in Afro-influenced rhythms, deep house grooves and driving club energy. His approach reflects a deep understanding of dancefloor dynamics, shaped through years of international experience and a carefully refined selection style that moves naturally between underground house and techno influences.
Marco’s musical journey began in the early 1990s in Turin, Italy, where he became immersed in the city’s underground electronic scene. Through the Urban People collective, he helped organise independent events that contributed to the development of Italy’s early house and techno movement. These formative experiences laid the foundations for both his technical style and his instinctive connection with club audiences.
A defining stage in his career followed through his residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. The experience expanded his international profile and opened the door to performances at venues including Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City. Exposure to different club cultures and audiences helped further shape his adaptable and globally influenced sound.
In 2009, Marco joined forces with Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, forming Bicycle Corporation. Together, the duo have released more than fifty productions and remixes spanning Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno on labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx. Their collaborative work balances Marco’s dancefloor-focused perspective with Stefano’s structured musical background and production detail.
The Bicycle Corporation catalogue combines melodic depth with groove-led arrangements and functional club structure, maintaining a consistent underground identity while exploring a wide spectrum of electronic styles. Their productions reflect a balance between musicality and dancefloor energy, helping establish the project as a respected presence within underground house and techno circles.
Alongside their studio work, Marco and Stefano continue exploring new creative directions through remixes, collaborations and electronic music radio programming. Their output remains grounded in underground culture while continuing to evolve alongside contemporary club music and modern production approaches.
Now based in Taipei, Marco Mei remains deeply connected to Asia’s underground electronic music community. Through his weekly radio broadcasts on Scientific Sound Asia, he continues presenting carefully curated sets that blend classic underground influences with contemporary club sounds. Each edition reflects decades of experience, musical versatility and an ongoing commitment to underground electronic music culture.
Marco Mei 2026 episode 18 opens the session with a strong Chicago House influence through DJ Pierre’s Like Ron Hardy 1985, Dreaming and Feel The Spirit Moving!. Hercules & Love Affair, alongside Louie Vega, continue the groove-led atmosphere with That’s Not How To Love in the Luke Solomon remix and Feeling Good Tonight in the DJ Minx remix, blending Classic House rhythms with soulful club energy.
Pipi Le Oui and Dirty Channels with Danny Russell maintain the underground House Music direction through Definition Of Love and Watchin Out. Semi-Skimmed Edits adds Disco and Boogie textures with Satisfactory, while Boogie Vice alongside N-You-Up bring playful Disco House energy through both versions of Wurkin Like Dat.
The middle section leans further into groove-focused House through Nikko, Crazibiza, and Cheesecake Boys’ Don’t Walk Away alongside Birdee’s Do You Feel. Candi Staton’s When You Wake Up Tomorrow in the Baume Love edit introduces classic Disco influences before DJ Lorenzo York with DJ Georgie Porgie and Folkness continue the flowing club atmosphere.
Leslie Lello, alongside Paul Older’s Acid Bass, introduces Nu Disco elements with acid-inspired textures before Mark Seven’s Egyptian Groove revisits classic House foundations with a modern edge. M.A.N.D.Y. versus Booka Shade featuring Laurie Anderson shift the session briefly toward Minimal and Deep Tech territory through O Superman, adding a darker electronic atmosphere.
The closing stretch returns firmly to House music through Blond:ish’s In Da Jungle, Mark Broom’s Touch and Ackermann’s I Know What To Do. Lego’s El Ritmo De Verdad introduces Latin Tech House percussion before Larry G’s Do You (92) revisits classic underground House influences. Montana Sextet closes the deeper-groove section with Who Needs Enemies With A Friend Like You, bringing Jazz-Funk and Disco textures into the mix before Ruffneck’s Everybody Wanna Be Somebody rounds out the session with timeless House energy.
DJ Marco Mei will perform live on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, between 6 and 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you cannot catch the live show, you can tune in to the replay on Wednesday from 6 to 8 AM (ICT).
