Grammy Award-winning producer, DJ and House music pioneer David Morales joins forces with New Jersey singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tiger Wilson on CRAVIN', a new House release through DIRIDIM that celebrates classic New York club culture with contemporary production. Released on 26th June, the package presents eight distinct versions built around soulful vocals, organic musicianship and the unmistakable rhythmic foundation that has defined Morales' productions for decades.
While Beatport classifies every version as House, CRAVIN'Â draws heavily from Soulful House traditions through Tiger Wilson's expressive vocal delivery and a musical backdrop influenced by gospel, R&B and classic New York dance music. Rather than relying on excessive production, Morales allows the groove, arrangement and songwriting to remain at the forefront, producing a release that works equally well on the dance floor and through dedicated listening.
David Morales has spent more than four decades helping shape modern dance music. From his early residency years at legendary New York clubs including Paradise Garage, Red Zone, Zanzibar and Club USA through to his Grammy Award-winning remix career and the creation of Def Mix Productions alongside Frankie Knuckles, Morales has remained one of House music's defining figures.
His productions and remixes for artists including Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Aretha Franklin and U2 established him as one of dance music's most influential producers. More recently, his DIRIDIM label has become a platform for both established artists and emerging talent while continuing to showcase his own productions across House, Soulful House and contemporary electronic music.

Tiger Wilson brings an equally authentic musical background to CRAVIN'. Raised in Paterson, New Jersey, he developed as a musician through church, learning guitar, drums and keyboards before teaching himself piano and gradually building his reputation as a songwriter, producer and vocalist.
His career expanded through work with producers Darren and Cliff Lighty before collaborations with Jaheim and Donell Jones further refined his writing and production skills. A meeting with legendary New York DJ Timmy Regisford introduced Wilson to House music, beginning a long creative partnership that would eventually lead to collaborations with both Regisford and David Morales on tracks including In The Club, Masterpiece and Burning Hot, all of which became favourites at New York's renowned Shelter nightclub.
Listening across the complete release reveals a carefully considered collection rather than a simple series of alternate edits. Every version is built around the same warm rhythmic identity, with organic hand percussion providing a rolling pulse throughout the package. The groove recalls classic New York House while subtly drawing upon hand percussion that evokes African rhythmic traditions, giving each mix its own warmth without overwhelming Tiger Wilson's vocal performance.
The Original Mix stands comfortably as the centrepiece of the release. Tiger Wilson's soulful vocal sits naturally within Morales' understated production, delivering a song that balances emotional expression with dancefloor momentum. Rich harmonies and expressive phrasing lend the record a gospel-inspired character without moving into overt religious territory, creating one of the strongest vocal performances to emerge from DIRIDIM this year.
The Extended Mix gives DJs additional room to work while preserving the character of the original arrangement. Meanwhile, the Extended Instrumental shifts the emphasis towards Morales' production, allowing the percussion, bassline and musical arrangement to breathe without the vocal leading the composition.
The package takes an unexpected turn through the Reprise versions. Stripped back to little more than piano and Tiger Wilson's vocal, the Reprise demonstrates the strength of the songwriting itself, while the Reprise Instrumental reduces the arrangement even further, leaving the piano to carry the emotional weight of the composition.
Returning towards the club, the Vocal Dub Mix introduces a heavier bass presence while retaining enough of Wilson's vocal to preserve the song's soulful identity. The Loop Mix simplifies the arrangement into a more repetitive groove designed for extended DJ mixing, while the Loop Dub combines the bass-driven character of the dub with the looping rhythmic structure, completing a package that offers DJs multiple practical tools without sacrificing musical cohesion.
Throughout every interpretation, Morales resists unnecessary complexity. Instead, the consistency of the percussion, understated production and Wilson's distinctive vocals allow each version to feel connected while serving a different purpose, whether for radio, home listening or extended club sets.
Rather than presenting eight unrelated mixes, CRAVIN'Â demonstrates how thoughtful arrangement can produce a complete House music package. The release celebrates musicianship, groove and vocal performance equally, bringing together two artists whose backgrounds span church music, New York club culture and decades of House music history.
For David Morales, CRAVIN'Â continues another productive period for DIRIDIM while reinforcing his commitment to authentic House music rooted in musicality rather than trends. For Tiger Wilson, it provides another showcase for a voice that comfortably bridges Soul, gospel and House traditions, confirming why he has become one of New Jersey's most respected contemporary vocalists.
