Marco Mei, the veteran Italian DJ and producer behind Bicycle Corporation, returns with a new edition of his long-running radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. The station stands as a key platform for underground electronic and urban music across Asia, connecting international audiences through radio, events and its global artist network.

With a career spanning over three decades, Marco has developed a distinctive sound shaped by Afro-influenced rhythms, deep house foundations and forward-moving club energy. His instinctive understanding of dancefloor dynamics and refined musical sensibility have earned him long-standing respect and a loyal following across Europe, Asia and beyond.

Marco’s journey began in the early 1990s in Turin, where he became deeply immersed in the city’s underground club culture. Drawn to house, techno and Afro-centric rhythmic sounds, he co-founded the Urban People collective, which played an important role in Italy’s early electronic music movement by organising progressive events and club nights that pushed beyond mainstream boundaries.

A pivotal chapter followed through a key residency at Pacha, Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, which brought Marco wider international recognition and opened the door to performances at respected venues worldwide. His touring path has since taken him to clubs such as Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City, among many others.

In 2009, Marco joined forces with Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, forming Bicycle Corporation. Together, the duo has released more than fifty tracks and remixes spanning Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno, appearing on labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx.

Their output reflects a balance between club functionality and musical depth, earning consistent support from DJs across the underground circuit. Now based in Taipei, Marco remains an active and influential figure within the region’s electronic music scene.

Through his ongoing radio work with Scientific Sound Asia, he channels decades of experience into carefully curated selections that reflect both his roots in classic club culture and his continued evolution as a modern selector. Each broadcast serves as a snapshot of Marco Mei’s enduring relationship with the crowd, reinforcing his role as a connector between generations, scenes and global underground communities.

The episode opens with a strong foundation in classic and soulful house, as Meli’sa Morgan’s Still In Love and Nick Holder’s Dance, Dance, Dance set a warm, vocal-led tone. The Trackheadz remix and I Need 2 Dance keep the momentum flowing, before Without U introduces a more contemporary feel that bridges classic house sensibilities with modern production.

As the mix develops, disco house takes centre stage. Funky Loffe’s Street Dreams and Munky Fike’s edit of Super Lover inject groove and nostalgia, while Detroit Boogie Assemble and Angie Stone’s bootleg rework bring soulful disco energy to the floor. Benny Benassi’s Satisfaction in Lefti’s disco mix adds a playful twist that nods to crossover club culture.

Midway through, the energy sharpens with club-focused selections. Bad Boy Bill and Avilo’s Baddest DJ pushes into tech house territory, while Ethan Denton’s Fabulous Love introduces a UK garage and bassline swing. Tracks like Touch The Flame, Hot Key and Bring It maintain a driving house groove, balancing rhythm and restraint.

The closing section leans into eclectic club flavours and disco-infused edits. Dino Lenny’s Not About The Volume and DJ Duke’s Can You Feel It rework emphasise groove over excess, while Four Tet’s 23mins36sec offers a hypnotic reset. Giorgio Moroder’s The Chase recut and Galo’s Marilu round things off in uplifting style, before Aretha, She Got Dis, and Cosmic Weapon bring episode 40 to a confident close, blending disco attitude with forward-facing house energy.

Be sure to catch DJ Marco Mei's live performance on Saturday, December 20th, 2025, between 6 and 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you can't watch the live broadcast, the replay will be available on Wednesday from 6 to 8 AM ICT.
