Marco Mei, the veteran Italian DJ and producer behind Bicycle Corporation, returns with another instalment of his celebrated radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. The station, known for supporting underground electronic and urban music across Asia and beyond, continues to bring together DJs, producers, and listeners through its global broadcasts, events, and artist network.
With more than thirty years on the international circuit, Marco has earned recognition for blending Afro-influenced rhythms, deep house grooves, and energetic club sounds into seamless and engaging sets. His musical insight and instinctive understanding of the dancefloor have earned him a loyal following worldwide.
Marco’s journey began in the early 1990s in Turin, Italy, where he became immersed in the underground club movement. His passion for house, techno, and Afro-centric rhythms led him to co-found Urban People, a pioneering collective that played a key role in shaping Italy’s early electronic music landscape.
His career reached new heights with a residency at Pacha Sharm el-Sheikh, which introduced him to international audiences. This was followed by performances at respected venues across the world, including Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels, and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2009, Marco joined forces with fellow Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, to form Bicycle Corporation. Together, they have released more than fifty tracks and remixes across Deep House, Tech House, French House, and Techno, with their catalogue appearing on labels such as Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka, and GrooveTraxx.
Since relocating to Taipei in 2010, Marco has become a key figure in Taiwan’s underground music scene. His sets combine a global outlook with the core values of house and techno, creating a sound that is both timeless and forward-looking.
Through his long-running radio series on Scientific Sound Asia, Marco continues to showcase the passion and versatility that define his career. Each episode reflects his deep musical experience and commitment to underground culture. With decades of influence, an evolving artistic vision, and a continued dedication to the dancefloor, Marco Mei remains a respected and influential presence in the international house and techno community.
DJ Marco Mei 2025 Episode 36 opens with a warm House flow as Crateburg’s Sinna Mann in the Junior Sanchez remix sets a rhythmic foundation with its smooth but punchy feel. Denis Sulta’s DKY (But I Do) adds a bright uplift before a shift into Nu Disco with Be The Dancer and the soulful depth of Think About Us, which brings a refined Deep House touch. Armand Van Helden and Hitty’s Keep Forgettin’ moves the energy toward more upfront club flavours, keeping the early section vibrant and groove-focused.
Momentum grows as Marco flows into All Over The World and DJ Dove’s Lonely No More, both adding warmth with rich vocal work. House selections like Unique, Woman and Jump bring clean percussion and an upbeat tone, while the tough edge of F12 adds tension with its driving string work. Tech House arrives with tracks such as Deckman and Let Me Tell You, delivering sharper drums and bouncier basslines that lift the mid-section.
The groove takes a turn towards classic-inspired movement through Kolter’s Love Dancing and the melodic soul of Dust. Harry Romero’s remix of All Rize keeps the House mood bold and strong, while ANOTR and other Tech House picks maintain a rolling, dance-floor-ready feel. The Disco flavour comes forward again with Somebody’s Watching Me in its Disco Tech form, providing a nostalgic lift before the mix rises in power with Ben Sims’ Peak Time Ain’t No Stoppin’.
The closing stretch leans into Disco House and rich vocal House energy. Lynn and Did You Pray Today bring warm instrumentation and uplifting hooks, flowing into the rhythm-driven feel of Shout N Out in the Blackchild remix. The episode ends on a classic note with New York Is My Kind Of Town, sealing the set with a timeless Disco character that complements the mix’s balance of modern House and vintage inspiration.
