Marco Mei, the veteran Italian DJ and producer behind Bicycle Corporation, returns with another edition of his acclaimed radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. Broadcasting across Asia and beyond, the station champions underground electronic and urban music, supporting a thriving community of DJs, producers, and listeners through its online platform, live events, and DJ network.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Marco has built a reputation for delivering dynamic sets that fuse Afro-inspired rhythms, driving house grooves, and club-focused electronics. His high-energy performances and deep musical knowledge have earned him loyal fans on dancefloors around the world.

Marco’s journey began in the early 1990s in Turin, Italy, where he immersed himself in the city’s underground scene, spending countless hours in record shops and honing his craft. His passion for House, Techno, and Afrobeat led him to co-found Urban People, a collective that played a key role in shaping Italy’s early electronic music movement.

A major breakthrough came with his residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh, which paved the way for appearances at renowned venues including Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels, and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2009, he teamed up with fellow Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, a.k.a. 6884, to form Bicycle Corporation. Together, they have released more than 50 tracks and remixes spanning Deep House, Tech House, French House, and Techno, with support from respected labels such as Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka, and GrooveTraxx.

Relocating to Taipei in 2010, Marco became a central figure in Taiwan’s underground club culture. His sets reflect a global sensibility, blending diverse influences while staying rooted in timeless club music traditions.

As host of his long-running show on Scientific Sound Asia, Marco curates episodes that capture the depth and energy of his live performances. Each broadcast reflects his enduring passion for underground sounds and showcases carefully selected tracks that connect with audiences worldwide.

With decades of experience, a global outlook, and an unshakable love for music, Marco Mei continues to shape the worlds of House and Techno through his solo projects, Bicycle Corporation releases, and ongoing radio presence.

The set opens with the disco house groove of The Bottle by Brian Jackson, Kenny Dope, Louie Vega, and Omar, easing into deep house warmth with District070’s I Know I Can Count On You. Classic house vibes arrive via Kerri Chandler’s You Are In My System, while Kyle Walker injects nu disco flavour with Feels So Good. Afro House energy lifts the mix with Soma Soul’s As We Fall In before the driving bass of Darius Syrossian’s Pon Da Soundsystem takes over.

Midway, Marco delivers club-ready house cuts like Costa UK’s Jealous Girl and Marco Melissen & Milton Shadow’s Groovin’. Alaia & Gallo’s Lipstick shifts into a tech house direction, balanced by disco-infused gems such as Delfonic’s Love Challenge. Bass House and Acid House moments add punch, including Potato Gun’s Mr. Harland’s Opus and the funked-up Feel U Up At The Disco.

Later, Giuseppe Surace’s Toda Menina Bajana and Cash Only’s Rotation keep the floor moving, while Joeski’s remix of Back To The Old injects raw underground grit. Marco flows through deep grooves like Spencer Brown’s Offsides and Tiger Stripes’ The Street, before Tom Trago’s Take A Chance and All Right bring hypnotic house flavours.

The mix closes with the acid-tinged Feel U Up At The Disco (Vox Mix) and Vanni Danni’s G Is A DJ, a minimal tech cut that wraps the episode with stripped-back intensity. Marco Mei once again blends styles seamlessly, offering a journey for house lovers, disco heads, and club regulars alike.

Be sure to catch DJ Marco Mei's live performance on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you can't watch the live show, the replay will be available on Wednesday from 6 to 8 AM ICT.
