French DJ and producer DJ King Flow returns with another instalment of Mixtape Addict, delivering a finely curated selection of underground hip hop. Broadcast via Scientific Sound Asia, a Vietnam-based international radio station and promoter, the show serves as a global platform for artists who uphold the core principles of hip-hop culture.

DJ King Flow began his journey at the age of fourteen, developing a style rooted in boom bap while embracing a contemporary sensibility. His approach honours the foundations of 90s hip hop while remaining firmly connected to the present, consistently supporting emerging voices across the underground.

This ability to bridge generations has earned him recognition from listeners and artists worldwide, positioning him among the most trusted selectors within lyrical hip hop. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with influential figures including Ras Kass, Tragedy Khadafi, O.C., Juicy J and Khujo Goodie, building relationships that reinforce his dedication to preserving the genre’s lineage.

Since launching Mixtape Addict in 2015, he has shaped it into a respected hub for independent artists, offering radio shows, interviews and mixtape releases that spotlight genuine talent and contribute to the strength of the underground community. As a producer, DJ King Flow continues to expand his creative range.

His instrumental album The Adventures of F.J. Parker blends jazz-influenced melodies, soulful textures, deep grooves and the grit associated with classic hip hop production. His latest 2025 releases, including Money, Give the Town Some Hope and several forthcoming collaborations, reflect continued artistic progression and a clear dedication to the craft.

Interview Guest: Perfcto.

Perfcto is a rapper and producer whose work is defined by precision, control and a commanding presence on the microphone. Drawing on hip hop’s classic producer-led traditions, he combines self-produced material with dense lyricism, delivering verses that balance confidence, ambition and darker conceptual ideas.

Raised across Southern and West Africa, with formative years spent in Johannesburg and Ghana after being born in Maseru, Lesotho, his musical outlook developed within environments shaped by active beat making and MC culture. Influences such as RZA and Dr Dre inform his approach, particularly in the way he constructs tracks around mood, rhythm and narrative rather than surface-level impact.

Alongside his music career, Perfcto has pursued creative work beyond the studio. He studied film at the New York Film Academy and later appeared in the television series Oceans 3, expanding his creative profile into visual storytelling. His performance history includes appearances alongside established hip hop figures, opening shows for Canibus in Johannesburg and Talib Kweli at the Back To The City Festival.

His catalogue has also received industry recognition through an Independent Music Award nomination for Best Rap Album, while his music has been featured in film soundtracks including Vehicle 19 and Othello Burning. Together, these achievements reflect an artist whose focus extends beyond individual releases, positioning Perfcto as a multidimensional contributor to contemporary underground hip hop.

The episode opens with a focused showcase from Perfcto, setting an uncompromising tone through Mr Touch Guy, Sacred Chaos and Beast Mode. These opening selections lock the session into raw Boom Bap and Hardcore territory, driven by heavy drums and confrontational delivery. The mood deepens as Ransom joins J Arr and BP Infinite on Blood On The Wifi, followed by the abstract textures of Now Loading, which brings a modern underground edge into the mix.

Intensity rises further with Guns, Guns, Guns and the polished street narratives of Anything Goes New, before classic New York energy takes control through Lower East Side and Sidewalk Executives. Obleak and his collaborators push the tension to the breaking point with Defcon 1, reinforcing the episode’s militant edge. DJ Premier’s unmistakable touch then lands on You See It, grounding the session firmly in East Coast Boom Bap tradition.

The second half leans into raw authenticity and lyrical weight. 100% Proof strips things back to essentials, while Iconoclast adds reflective depth through layered performances and controlled flows. French Hip Hop makes a strong appearance with GOAT and Les Vapeurs, bringing a continental sharpness that complements the dominant New York sound.

The closing stretch balances aggression and craft with Style Bender before DJ King Flow’s interview with Perfcto brings the episode full circle. Their conversation highlights creative discipline, street influence and the continued relevance of uncompromising Boom Bap. Episode 78 stands as a hard-hitting statement, connecting underground scenes across regions while staying rooted in raw hip hop fundamentals.

The live broadcast is scheduled for Wednesday, December 16th, 2025, from 8 PM to 10 PM Indochina Time (ICT), with a replay planned for Saturday between 8 AM and 10 AM (ICT).
