DJ Joshua announces his track list for Velvety Elements 311.

Velvety Elements returns with a new edition hosted by DJ Joshua on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, while also publishing music news and connecting audiences across the region and internationally.

Based in Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has been immersed in electronic music culture since the 1990s. His long-standing relationship with vinyl, cassettes, CDs and digital formats reflects decades of commitment to underground sound and DJ culture.

Although his musical journey has spanned techno, drum and bass and chillout, house music has remained central to his artistic identity. His sets focus on groove, soul and emotional depth, maintaining a consistent connection to both classic and contemporary house influences.

During quieter periods for Portugal’s underground movement, he remained active by organising events and collaborating with fellow artists. These efforts helped sustain a resilient local scene while strengthening his role within the community.

After stepping away from music to focus on family life, he returned with renewed direction through his online radio show, Floating Beats. The series developed into a recognised platform for melodic and forward-thinking electronic music.

Velvety Elements followed as a complementary project focused on deeper and more soulful interpretations of house. The show explores warm textures and flowing structures, reflecting a more introspective and refined side of his musical approach.

Working under aliases including K Joshua, Joshua Marian, Joshua Fernand and Joshua Onairam, he continues to explore multiple creative directions. Each project highlights a different aspect of his sound, from minimal grooves to melodic and cinematic compositions.

In 2024, he launched JFLM Recordings as a platform for his own productions while supporting underground artists. The label has since developed into an outlet for both solo work and collaborations, reinforcing his ongoing commitment to the scene.

Under the Joshua Marian alias, releases such as Nobody Waiting For Me on Back to the Beat expanded his focus on groove-led house. Tracks like Just Love and Chance With Soul further explored this direction with refined melodic detail and structured progression.

In 2025, his K Joshua single Light of Faith introduced a more introspective tone within his catalogue. The release combines deep house rhythms with melodic phrasing that balances reflection with forward movement.

Through Velvety Elements, Joshua continues to develop a clear and evolving musical identity. Each episode unfolds as a carefully structured journey, reflecting the enduring character, depth and emotional resonance of house music.

The set opens with Terry Lee Brown Junior and Ben Diggins setting a smooth House foundation through Mindless Tides and Song With My Father. Harley and Muscle follow with Thirty Years, introducing a deeper tone that blends seamlessly into the early groove.

Momentum builds through Intr0beatz and Alejandro Mosso, where Biltong Bump and Cascada balance House Music and Deep House tracks. Alton Miller continues this direction with Last One 1st, adding a refined, soulful touch to the mix.

The middle section develops with Byron The Aquarius and DJ Honesty, where A New Life and Wired maintain a steady rhythm while deepening the atmosphere. DJ Swella brings the groove back toward House with That Room, keeping the flow consistent.

Manuel Kane’s House Music (Is Lived) reinforces the Deep House foundation, while Dam Swindle, DJ Pierre and Simon Doty introduce a more energetic moment with Come Together, adding variation without disrupting the overall balance.

The closing stretch is guided by Franck Roger’s Mister Henderson, rounding off the set with a smooth and understated finish. Across the session, DJ Joshua delivers a cohesive blend of House and Deep House, maintaining a steady groove with subtle shifts in tone and energy throughout.
