DJ Joshua has unveiled the playlists for his renowned 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia, the premier Asian electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency, supports these broadcasts, which have captivated a global audience.
Hailing from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is celebrated for his vast collection of electronic music across various formats, including digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape. His journey began in his teenage years, immersing himself in genres like Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. Countless hours were spent perfecting his craft as a DJ and organising his extensive music library.
In the early nineties, when rave music faced resistance and was scarce on Portuguese airwaves, Joshua persevered through numerous challenges. His dedication led to residencies on local stations, where he introduced rave music to a broader audience.
Building a strong reputation through events at clubs and bars, Joshua's career flourished, but he paused to focus on family life. As his daughter grew, he returned to his musical roots, launching the Floating Beats podcast and radio series. This platform allowed him to reconnect with his audience and share his unique vision.
Expanding his reach, Joshua introduced Velvety Elements, a show celebrating the deeper and more soulful aspects of House music. Both of his podcasts have gained international recognition, including broadcasts on Scientific Sound Asia.
In his own words, "Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body, enjoy it."
Joshua's weekly shows explore a rich mix of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
