DJ Joshua has unveiled the playlists for his weekly 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia, the leading Asian electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency with a global audience, proudly features Joshua's work.
Originating from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is renowned for his extensive collection of electronic music across various formats including digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape. His passion for genres such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout began in his youth, during which he dedicated extensive time to refining his DJ skills and curating his vast music library.
In the early nineties, despite facing resistance to rave music in Portugal, Joshua's perseverance led him to secure residencies at local stations, thus introducing rave music to a broader audience. His reputation grew through events at clubs and bars, although he took a hiatus from public performances upon becoming a father.
As his daughter grew older, Joshua returned to his musical roots by launching the 'Floating Beats' podcast and radio series. His dedication to this series, along with the 'Velvety Elements' show, has garnered a substantial following and international recognition, including broadcasts on our station over the past two years.
Joshua’s philosophy on music is: "Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body, enjoy it."
His shows offer a diverse mix of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
