DJ Joshua has unveiled the latest playlists for his popular weekly shows, 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements'. Supported by Scientific Sound Asia, the premier electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency in Asia with a global audience, these shows highlight Joshua's dedication to electronic music.
Originating from Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is known for his extensive collection of electronic music across various formats, including digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape. His deep passion for genres such as Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout started in his teenage years and continued into early adulthood, during which he meticulously curated his vast music library.
In the early nineties, despite resistance to rave music in Portugal, Joshua persevered, securing residencies at local stations to share his passion with the public. He built a solid reputation through events at clubs and bars but took a hiatus from performing and radio when he became a father.
As his daughter grew, Joshua reignited his passion by launching the 'Floating Beats' podcast and radio series. This project quickly gained a following, allowing him to maintain his unique vision across several online platforms.
Expanding his reach, Joshua introduced 'Velvety Elements' to explore the deeper and more soulful aspects of House music. Both shows have been broadcast internationally and on Scientific Sound Asia in recent years.
Joshua describes his work as: "Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body, enjoy it."
In his weekly shows, Joshua explores a mix of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
