DJ Joshua has released the playlists for his weekly 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency with a global following.
Born and raised in Evora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is renowned for his extensive collection of electronic music across various formats, including digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape. His passion for genres like Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout led him to spend countless hours perfecting his craft and organising his vast music library.
In the early nineties, DJ Joshua faced significant resistance to rave music in Portugal, which was largely absent from the airwaves. With determination, he secured residencies on local stations and began sharing his enthusiasm for rave music with a growing audience.
He started hosting events at clubs and bars, building a strong reputation in his hometown and beyond. After the birth of his first child, he took a break from public performances and radio shows.
As his daughter grew, DJ Joshua rekindled his passion by launching the Floating Beats podcast and radio series. This effort garnered a loyal following, and he continued to share his vision through various online platforms.
Furthering his dedication to House music, he introduced the Velvety Elements show to highlight the deeper, soulful aspects of the genre. His shows have been broadcast internationally and on our station, celebrating his love for music.
In his own words, "Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body. Enjoy it."
