DJ Joshua has released the playlists for his weekly Floating Beats and Velvety Elements shows. Scientific Sound Asia is the Asian electronic music station and DJ Agency for the region with a global following.

DJ Joshua was born and raised in Evora, Portugal and gained a reputation as an electronic music hoarder. His main hobby is collecting electronic music genres across many formats like digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape.

During his teenage years, he collected Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. He spent countless hours at home perfecting his art as a disc jockey and organising his huge library of music.

In the early nineties, there was active resistance to rave music and was missing on Portuguese airwaves. After much patience and perseverance, he negotiated some residencies on local stations and began sharing his love of rave music with the masses.

He began doing House Music events and Techno events at clubs and bars with his close allies and gaining a good reputation in his home city and beyond. When he embraced his firstborn he took a break from doing events and performing on the radio.

As his daughter grew he felt a need to re-ignite to his roots and started the Floating Beats podcast and radio series. Over the years that have followed, he has gained a good following and continues his original vision on several notable online outlets.

His love affair did not stop there, after some time, he decided to add another show to celebrate the more profound and soulful side of House and his new show Velvety Elements was born. His podcasts have been broadcast on House Music radio and Techno radio stations internationally including our station over the last few years.

In his own words, 'Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body, Enjoy it.'

In his weekly radio shows, Joshua delves into a mixture of House Music and Techno sub-genres including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.

Listen to the shows live on Monday the 11th of December 2023 from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT) and re-airing on Friday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
