DJ Joshua has released the playlists for his weekly 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia is the Asian electronic music station and DJ Agency for the region with a global following.

DJ Joshua originates from Evora in Portugal and holds a reputation as an electronic music gatherer. His main pastime is collecting a plethora of electronic music genres across many formats such as digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape.

In his teenage years and as an early adult, he collected Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. He spent countless hours at home perfecting his art as a disc jockey and organising his massive library of music.

At the turn of the nineties, there was active resistance to rave music and it was missing on Portuguese airwaves. After a lot of patience and perseverance, he negotiated some residencies on local stations and began sharing his love of rave music with the masses.

He began doing events at clubs and bars with his close allies and gaining a good reputation in his home city and beyond. When he embraced fatherhood he took a break from doing events and performing on the radio.

As his daughter matured he felt a need to get back to his roots and started the Floating Beats podcast and radio series. Over the years that have followed, he has gained a good following and continues his original vision on several notable online outlets.

His love affair did not stop there and after a while, he decided to add another show to celebrate the more profound and soulful side of House and his new show Velvety Elements was born. Both of his podcasts are broadcasted internationally including on our station over the last two years.

In his own words, 'Music is an art form. The fusion of elements can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body, enjoy it.'

In his weekly shows, Joshua delves into a mixture of House Music and Techno sub-genres including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
