Floating Beats 751 on Scientific Sound Asia welcomes back DJ Joshua for another edition of his long-running show. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, publishing music news and connecting audiences across the region and internationally.
Born in Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has been part of electronic music culture since the mid-1990s, building his knowledge across vinyl, cassettes, CDs and digital formats. His background spans House, Techno, Drum and Bass and Chillout, and even during quieter periods for Portugal’s underground scene, he stayed active through event organisation and community support.
After a period away from DJing to focus on family, he returned through Floating Beats, which has developed into a recognised outlet for deeper and more progressive electronic music. The show is built around atmosphere, controlled progression and a sense of arc that draws on his years of experience behind the decks.
Alongside the show, Joshua produces under several aliases, each covering different ground within electronic music. As Joshua Fernand, he works in modern Techno, with tracks including Blue River on MixCult Digital and Breaking Rocks and Tearing Metal on his own JFLM Recordings.
Closed Door and Open Door on Radickal Records take a darker, more hypnotic direction through tension and repetition. Killer’s Plan on Rice Bowl Recordings under the Joshua Fernand name bridges the gap, combining layered melodies with Melodic House and Techno structures.
His Joshua Marian alias sits at the deeper end, with releases including Just Love, Express Your Voice and Go Slow appearing on labels such as Yesenia, Jazz In Da House, Agua Salada Records and Wanda. That project draws on warm melodies, soulful textures and groove-led rhythmic flow rather than the harder edges of his Techno work.
The K Joshua alias moves into rawer and more experimental territory, with Promised Work on Kopoc, Stranger Things on dublucid and Slow Laziness on Ghetto Rhythms Records spanning raw and hypnotic Techno, Dub Techno and Ambient influences. These projects show the range of his studio work while keeping a clear connection to underground electronic music.
JFLM Recordings launched in 2024 as an independent platform for his own output and collaborative projects. Floating Beats 751 presents his ongoing work as a DJ and selector, with the series exploring deep, progressive and underground electronic music.
DJ Joshua presents episode 751 of Floating Beats on Scientific Sound Asia, with a selection moving through Techno, House Music, Deep House and Progressive House. The episode features music from Andre Zimmer, Danny Howells, Gregor Tresher, Rocco Rodamaal, Vince Watson, Oliver Lieb, L.S.G. and Black Mirror Park.
Andre Zimmer opens with Xplorer, setting a House Music tone before Danny Howells moves into Progressive House with Stuckduck. Gregor Tresher then adds a Melodic House and Techno entry through Concrete Echoes, followed by Rocco Rodamaal’s House Jam on COD3 QR.
D. Diggler’s The Great Resistm and Heck’s 2AM bring the mix into Techno, giving the middle section a firmer rhythmic shape. Vince Watson’s Mystical in the Mr. C remix then shifts the programme towards Deep House through Alola Records.
Antwon Faulkner’s Groovness keeps the Detroit-rooted Techno pressure in place, while Oliver Lieb and L.S.G. add a Trance reference with Shecan in the WJ Henze remix. Trax Unit then brings the set back into Deep House with Ephemera, adding a deeper late-section contrast.
Nobuharu Morimoto’s Dontenmoyou in the Koichi Sugimoto remix returns Floating Beats 751 to Techno through Diffuse Reality Records. Black Mirror Park closes the episode with 313 Hotline on Planet Rhythm, ending the show with a direct Techno finish.
Don't miss his live radio show on Monday, July 13th, 2026, between 6 and 8 p.m. Indochina Time (ICT). If you can't catch it live, tune in to the replay on Friday from 6 to 8 a.m. (ICT).
