Blaze DJ returns with a new edition of Ministry of Breaks on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, while also publishing music news and connecting audiences across the region and internationally.

Originally from Walthamstow in London’s East End, Blaze DJ is a British DJ and producer whose career remains rooted in underground music culture and the craft of DJing. His approach has been shaped by long-term immersion rather than trends, with decades spent refining a practical, dancefloor-focused style.

A defining moment came in 1987 with the discovery of House Sounds of Chicago Volume 1, which marked the beginning of his connection to club culture. By the age of fifteen, he was already performing publicly, building early momentum through gigs in Edmonton before securing bookings in Birmingham and Faliraki during the peak of the UK club era.

As part of the Acid House generation, Blaze DJ experienced the evolution of UK electronic music first-hand. His sound reflects this history, combining house foundations with breaks, acid elements, UK bass pressure and techno energy, structured with a clear focus on flow and impact.

Following a fifteen-year hiatus, he returned with renewed clarity and a strong focus on production. In 2025, he delivered a consistent run of releases across multiple labels, reinforcing his position within the breaks and UK bass scene.

Recent work includes Control on Dirty Kitchen Rave, I Don’t Know on Solid Breaks Records, Ride Da Rhythm and Let It Roll on Ministry of Breaks, and They Call It Music, a 136 BPM crossover release on his own imprint. Earlier productions such as London Bass on ONE7AUDIO and the Home rework for Jeff Alford on Industrial Force further highlight his connection to both classic rave and contemporary breakbeat styles.

These releases demonstrate a producer operating comfortably within Breaks, Breakbeat and UK Bass at tempos between 130 and 140 BPM, while also moving into crossover territory when required. His recent output reflects both renewed momentum and a clearly defined artistic direction.

Ministry of Breaks continues to function as both a radio platform and a production identity. Alongside the monthly show on Scientific Sound Asia, Blaze DJ develops the brand through releases, curated content and events centred on breaks and bass culture. The project remains grounded in authenticity, technical precision and a strong connection to underground heritage, while continuing to evolve within the modern global breaks scene.

The set opens with a strong Bass Breaks foundation as DJ Icey and Acedias set the tone through Hardways Workin and Rave, before Jormek and Davdcase introduce a funk-driven edge with Everybody... Dance! and Work That. Remenz and DJ Index keep the energy moving with Tech Breaks pressure, establishing a rolling groove early on.

Momentum builds through Ed Solo and Krafty Kuts alongside Firestar Soundsystem and The Pattern Sound, where When I Was A Yout and Energy blend Funky Breaks with UK Bass influences. Aquasky and Masterblaster bring a classic touch with Ghost, while Voodoo People adds a Big Beat and rave-driven shift that reinforces the old-school energy running through the set.

The groove deepens as RE-AB Productions and MDandA and Ctrl-Z with Freestylers maintain a tight rhythmic flow through Temptation and Forward Motion. Dominic B and Borez push the bassline further with Body Rock, while the Miami Breaks remix of Promiscuous Girl adds a distinct low-end variation without breaking the structure.

Blaze DJ’s own productions begin to shape the identity of the mix more clearly, with Y Viva España!, They Call It Music and I Don’t Know reinforcing a Bass Breaks direction. Around these, Maxxwell X and The Darrow Chem Syndicate introduce Funky and Electro Breaks elements, adding texture and variation to the central section.

The later stages move deeper into Tech and Bass Breaks territory as Yo Speed, Shade K and Code Breakerz and Loopcrashing bring a darker, more driving edge through Crime Files, Work It! and Times Like This. Addamz and Phrenetic continue this direction, maintaining intensity while keeping the groove consistent.

The closing run carries that momentum forward with Nitro, Woter and Bazco and DJ Hybrid, before Blaze DJ returns with Let It Roll. The final stretch with Thunder Breakz and Glow (SP) locks back into Funky and Bass Breaks, rounding off a full-spectrum session that moves through classic influences, rave energy and modern UK Breakbeat with a cohesive underground flow.

Catch the live broadcast on Friday, April 3rd, 2026, from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT), and don’t forget to tune in for the re-run on Tuesday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
