Bicycle Corporation has unveiled the track list for episode 202 of their acclaimed Roots show. Broadcast via Scientific Sound Asia, one of the leading electronic music stations, event organisers, and DJ agencies in the region, the series continues to celebrate the depth and diversity of global music culture, captivating audiences across Asia and beyond.

For over a decade, Bicycle Corporation, the Italian duo of DJ and producer Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano (also known as 6884), has been a vital force in the international electronic scene. Their productions span genres including French House, Deep House, Tech House, and Techno, showcasing their versatility and refined craftsmanship.

Marco's adventure started in the early 1990s with Urban People, a groundbreaking collective that played a key role in developing Italy's underground House and Techno scene. His innovative event management and creative leadership quickly gained him recognition across the country, leading to international opportunities.

Stefano, a native of Turin, Italy, built his musical background through classical piano, percussion, and drumming, influenced by Chopin and traditional West African rhythms. His interest in DJ culture and turntable skills further defined his journey, combining musical talent with contemporary production methods.

Together, Marco and Stefano have continually evolved while staying true to their roots. Their enduring partnership and recent return to earlier works, now available on their Bandcamp page, reflect a deep commitment to their musical journey.

With Roots, they persist in exploring and celebrating the sounds that have shaped generations. Their performances seamlessly combine Funk, Disco, Afrobeat, Rare Groove, Soul, and Brazilian rhythms, creating a rich and timeless blend that embodies the Bicycle Corporation ethos.

Bicycle Corporation return with Roots 202, diving deep into the golden age of Disco, Funk, and Soul with a collection of iconic reworks and classic reinterpretations. The episode opens with the warm energy of Donny Hathaway & Roberta Flack’s Back Together Again and Dennis Parker’s Like An Eagle, before Eddy Grant’s California Style keeps the late-70s flair alive with smooth disco rhythms.

As the mix unfolds, Dr Packer’s remix of WAR’s Galaxy and Dimitri From Paris’s take on The JB’s Just Wanna Make You Dance capture the vibrant funk energy that defined an era. Deep and soulful touches emerge through Willie Graff & Tuccillo’s To the Music (DJ QU Remix) and Rose Royce’s Best Love (Jay Caruso Restyling), blending classic soul roots with modern house sensibility.
