Bicycle Corporation has released its playlist for its next 'Roots' show. Scientific Sound Asia is the English language electronic music station for Malaysia, China, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea and the rest of Asia.
Bicycle Corporation is an electronic duo of the Italian DJ and Producer Marco Mei plus the skilled Stefano Ugliano aka 6884. As a duo, they have released well over 50 tracks ranging in genres from Tech House, French House, and Techno.
Going back to the early nineties Marco was setting off on his musical journey as a DJ. He began doing his own nights as an ensemble known as 'Urban People' throughout the whole of Italy.
This gained him recognition and he subsequently gained a residency at Pacha, in Egypt. This gained him recognition and DJ bookings internationally and started him on a musical furlough around the globe.
Raised in Torino, Italy, Stefano in his early years displayed incredible abilities with music. He studied with a passion for classical piano, percussion, and drums, and loved his Chopins and West African Djembes.
However during his formative years that figure of 'the guy spinning records' proved more and more intriguing for the teenage Stefano. He never knew that those very electronic beats, so hard to get on ‘90s Italian radio stations, were going to launch a very new chapter in his life.
The track list for the next show is laid out below and represents the 'Roots' of their sound and the genres they have drawn influence from in their electronic releases. These genres include Funk, Disco, Soul, Afrobeat, Electro, Rare Groove, Hip Hop, and Afrocentric.
