Bicycle Corporation introduce guest DJ HER for their Electronic Roots episode 20. The show is broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia, an English-language electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter connecting artists and audiences across Asia and internationally.
Bicycle Corporation is the Italian duo formed by DJ and producer Marco Mei together with Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Since forming the project, they have developed a catalogue of more than fifty releases and remixes across house and techno, including Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno, establishing a consistent presence within the underground electronic music scene.
Marco Mei began his journey in the early 1990s, building his reputation through events organised with the Urban People collective across Italy. These early experiences helped shape his identity as a DJ and led to a residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh. This period opened the door to international bookings, allowing him to perform across Europe, Asia and beyond while refining his style on a wide range of dancefloors.
Stefano Ugliano, raised in Torino, developed a strong musical background from an early age. He studied classical piano, percussion and drums, drawing inspiration from composers such as Chopin as well as the rhythmic traditions of West African percussion. As electronic music culture grew in Europe, he became increasingly drawn to DJing and production, eventually focusing his energy on the evolving underground scene.
When Marco and Stefano joined forces in 2009, Bicycle Corporation emerged as a project combining musical knowledge, technical skill and a shared passion for electronic music. Their productions have been released on labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, GrooveTraxx, Suka and Revox, gaining support from DJs across the international circuit.
For this episode of Electronic Roots, they welcome guest DJ HER, adding a fresh perspective to the programme. The series continues to explore a wide musical spectrum, bringing together influences from across electronic music while maintaining a focus on depth, selection and the cultural foundations that shape the global underground scene.

Guest DJ 叫小鶴 HER.
This week’s guest is DJ HER, real name Chen Her, a DJ and producer based in Taiwan whose sound is centred around House and Techno. Her journey into electronic music began in 2017 after being introduced to house music by a friend, marking the start of a steady progression into the underground scene.
By 2019, she had developed a strong connection with techno, finding a deeper artistic direction within its darker and more immersive sound. Since then, she has become a regular presence at major events across Taiwan, building her reputation through consistent performances and a clear musical identity.
Alongside her work behind the decks, she is affiliated with the electronic music label Our Muzik, contributing both as a DJ and producer. Outside of music, she is also a practising tattoo artist, a creative outlet that mirrors the detail and individuality present in her musical approach.
Her sets are characterised by layered textures and a distinctive atmosphere, blending natural elements with darker tones and varied rhythmic structures. Subtle psychedelic melodies and evolving arrangements allow her to shape each performance into a fluid and expressive journey, with a focus on storytelling through sound.
Continuing to develop her production work, she has released new material since her previous appearance, further establishing her voice within the underground electronic scene. Her productions often feature bright melodic structures alongside deeper, more hypnotic tones, occasionally incorporating her own vocals and subtle oriental influences to create a distinct and personal identity.
This combination allows her to explore a wide emotional range while maintaining a consistent underground aesthetic. As a performer, she is a regular presence at underground events across Taiwan, where her sets are known for their progression and attention to detail. Whether in the studio or behind the decks, her work reflects a clear focus on texture, mood and evolving musical narratives.
Electronic Roots 20 with DJ HER opens with Metaphor in the Never Lost remix before moving into Time Zeno and Surge K430v2, establishing a deep hypnotic techno foundation. The early section focuses on rolling grooves and restrained energy, with Ho Up and Joy introducing subtle shifts in rhythm while maintaining a tight underground feel.
The set develops through Room 388, Holder and Early Sound, bringing in more atmospheric textures while retaining the hypnotic core. Activity and Tears add melodic depth without moving away from techno structure, while Black Market stands out as a defining moment with its immersive and layered approach.
Energy builds steadily with Behind The Lines and Dorian’s Groove Box, before Condensed and Element #7 push into a more direct, peak-time Techno direction. Tracks like Old Kingdom, Rough Planets and Mental Shaking introduce a darker and more industrial edge, reinforcing the underground identity of the mix.
The closing stretch moves through Galaxian, Chapter Two and Monograph, maintaining intensity while refining the groove. Vanished, Alloy and Falling Down continue the forward momentum before Forgive and Boniva bring the session to a controlled and focused finish. The episode captures a full spectrum of deep, hypnotic and driving techno, balancing atmospheric depth with dancefloor precision.
