Terence C joins Bicycle Corporation as the guest DJ for episode 139 of Electronic Roots, broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia. The station continues its role as a leading electronic music platform, DJ agency and promoter, connecting underground artists across Asia and internationally.

Bicycle Corporation is the long-running collaboration between Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and classically trained musician Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. With a catalogue of more than fifty tracks and remixes, their output spans House and Techno, balancing rhythmic drive with melodic depth and a strong sense of club identity.

Marco began his musical journey in the early 1990s, shaped by Afro-influenced grooves and Italy’s emerging underground club movement. His early work with the Urban People collective helped establish his reputation nationally, before a key residency at Pacha Sharm El Sheikh marked the beginning of his international career.

Stefano, born and raised in Turin, developed his musical foundation through classical piano, percussion and drums. Influenced by both Chopin’s compositions and West African djembe rhythms, he cultivated a strong understanding of structure, harmony and groove. This background later informed his transition into electronic music and became a defining element of Bicycle Corporation’s sound.

Together, Marco and Stefano continue to honour their underground roots while evolving through new productions, collaborations and radio work. Electronic Roots reflects this ethos, presenting a wide spectrum of House and Techno through guest DJs from across Asia and beyond, encouraging cultural exchange and musical connection.

Episode 139, featuring Terence C, continues this direction with a refined, groove-led session that complements Bicycle Corporation’s musical identity while highlighting the depth and diversity of Asia’s electronic music landscape.

DJ Terence C, the renowned Malaysian DJ and producer now based in Shanghai, headlines this week’s edition of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. With more than two decades of experience, he is widely regarded as one of Asia’s most respected selectors, recognised for his technical precision, deep musical knowledge and consistent commitment to quality performances.

A defining figure within Kuala Lumpur’s electronic music landscape, Terence played a key role in shaping the city’s house and techno identity. His long-standing residencies at influential venues established his reputation for instinctive crowd reading and polished delivery, securing his position as a trusted name within the regional underground circuit.

Throughout his career, Terence has shared stages with international icons including David Morales, Fatboy Slim and Pete Tong. His frequent collaborations with John Digweed, particularly as the Malaysian tour opener at the legendary Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur, further strengthened his standing and helped cultivate a loyal underground following across Southeast Asia.

Before the pandemic, Terence co-founded We Love Techno alongside DJ XU, a monthly event series centred around the driving sounds associated with Drumcode and Cocoon. The project quickly became one of Kuala Lumpur’s most respected techno nights, injecting renewed momentum into the local club scene and reinforcing his commitment to pushing the genre forward.

Terence’s journey began in 1998 under the guidance of DJ Chris Doss, leading to early appearances at Cubeat and Globar. His breakthrough followed soon after when he supported David Morales’ first performance in Malaysia, a milestone that opened doors to high-profile bookings at Movement Club, Backroom, Nouvo and Atmosphere. Regional demand followed, with appearances at Lush in Singapore and Liquid in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2005, he co-founded Altered Image alongside Callen Tham and Digital, a multimedia project combining electronic music, turntablism and live visuals. The act won the Malaysian edition of the Heineken Thirst competition and toured extensively throughout Southeast Asia.

In recent years, Terence has embraced hybrid DJ setups, blending traditional decks with Ableton Live to expand his creative range and deliver more fluid, evolving performances. His ongoing Movement Control mix series continues to attract attention, with recent editions such as Movement Control 275 highlighting his refined selection and forward momentum.

Now focused on new studio material, Terence C remains a vital presence within Asia’s underground electronic movement. His appearance on Electronic Roots reflects both his forward-thinking musical direction and his long-standing contribution to house and techno culture across the region.

Electronic Roots 139 with guest DJ Terence C opens with a smooth and understated introduction as Deep House selections set a warm and measured tone. Tracks like Cawuso and Unfold establish a deep, groove-led foundation, easing the listener into the journey with subtle rhythm and restrained atmosphere.

As the mix unfolds, the focus shifts toward Progressive House, where Magischer Gummi and Cloud Garden introduce a more melodic and forward-moving feel. This section builds naturally, maintaining emotional balance while gradually increasing momentum through layered arrangements and evolving structure.

Midway through, Melodic House & Techno and Indie Dance elements add contrast and intensity. Tracks such as Hippy Flip, Brainwave 2.0 in the Raxon remix and Yuwana deepen the mood, while Sickomode briefly injects raw and hypnotic techno pressure without breaking the flow.

The closing stretch returns to Progressive House and melodic depth, with A Moment Of Clarity, Surreal and Losing Wait shaping a reflective and immersive finale. Electronic Roots episode 139 closes as a cohesive and expressive journey, highlighting Terence C’s ability to balance progression, melody and club-focused restraint across a wide emotional range.
