Terence C, a respected guest DJ and seasoned selector, joins Bicycle Corporation for episode 133 of Electronic Roots, broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia. As a regional hub for electronic music, Scientific Sound Asia continues to promote underground talent across Asia and beyond through its radio shows, events, and DJ agency.
Bicycle Corporation is the joint project of Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and classically trained musician Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. With a catalogue of over 50 original tracks and remixes, the duo explore diverse sounds within House and Techno, blending rhythmic depth with melodic sensibility.
Marco began his musical journey in the early 1990s, inspired by Afro-infused electronic grooves. His role in launching the Urban People collective helped foster a vibrant scene across Italy and eventually led to his residency at the iconic Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh, where he refined his international presence.
Stefano, raised in Turin, developed his skills through classical piano, percussion, and drumming, drawing on influences ranging from Chopin to West African rhythms. His fascination with electronic music and DJ culture in the ’90s eventually led to the formation of Bicycle Corporation, fusing traditional musicality with electronic experimentation.
Together, Marco and Stefano remain dedicated to their roots. Their ongoing Electronic Roots show focuses on House and Techno with guest DJs from across Asia, fostering cross-cultural exchange while preserving the underground ethos. Episode 133 with Terence C continues this mission, offering a deep and groove-driven journey into the contemporary sound of the region.

Guest DJ Terence C.
Terence C, a highly respected DJ and producer from Malaysia, headlines this week’s edition of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. Now based in Shanghai, Terence brings over two decades of experience to the booth, earning a reputation throughout Asia for his deep musical knowledge and consistently high-calibre performances.
Terence played a key role in shaping Kuala Lumpur’s House and Techno scenes, holding long-term residencies at some of the city’s most prominent venues. His ability to read a crowd and deliver with precision has made him a trusted presence in the region’s nightlife, with widespread respect from peers and audiences alike.
He has shared the stage with global icons including David Morales, Fatboy Slim, and Pete Tong, and remains a favourite opener for John Digweed’s shows in Malaysia. Their regular collaborations, particularly at the legendary Zouk Club in Kuala Lumpur, became standout moments in the local scene and highlighted Terence’s command of the dancefloor.
His connection with Zouk, one of Asia’s most influential club brands, further solidified his stature. In the years leading up to the pandemic, he co-founded We Love Techno with DJ XU, a monthly night focused on deeper, cutting-edge sounds from labels like Drumcode and Cocoon. The series quickly built a loyal following, bringing raw, underground energy to the KL circuit.
Terence’s journey began in 1998, guided by early support from DJ Chris Doss. He quickly made an impact with gigs at Cubeat and Globar, leading to a breakthrough moment supporting David Morales at the legendary DJ’s first Malaysian show. From there, his profile grew with regular slots at Movement Club, Backroom, Nouvo, and Atmosphere.
Beyond Malaysia, Terence performed at top venues across Southeast Asia, including Lush in Singapore and Liquid in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2005, he co-founded Altered Image with Callen Tham and Digital, a pioneering live audio-visual project that blended cinematic visuals, turntablism, and electronic music. The project won the Malaysian division of the Heineken Thirst competition and toured across the region, pushing creative boundaries with immersive performances.
In recent years, Terence has continued evolving as an artist, embracing digital tools like Ableton Live and incorporating hybrid setups into his performances. His studio work is gaining momentum, with new material expected to surface in the coming year.
As a curator for Electronic Roots, Terence brings a refined and boundary-pushing perspective to House and Techno. His ongoing presence on Scientific Sound Asia reflects a commitment to innovation and his continuing influence in shaping Asia’s underground electronic music culture.
Electronic Roots 133 opens with the powerful Relentless by John Digweed, Nick Muir & Spencer Brown, setting the tone with layered Progressive House. The mood deepens with EdOne & Jordan Lev’s False Mirror, blending hypnotic rhythms with melodic house structure. Agustin Pengov & Tirso Enriquez follow with a remix by Gai Barone & Aubrey Fry, leaning into the atmospheric. From Moshic’s cult-classic Mars Needs Women to the emotive remix of Cass – Gothamania, the early segment builds a cinematic progressive house music flow.
The middle section journeys into darker terrain with Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic) from Linear System, Milo Raad, and Romel Johan, who returns later in the set with Claremont With Jess. Risa Taniguchi and Ken Ishii bring intense Peak Time drive, while Ian O’Donovan’s Samhain injects eerie melodic layers. Cortona’s Tempesta and Onur Ozman’s Point Nemo dive into melodic techno and melodic house & techno, showing the evolving textures Terence C weaves through his show.
Things shift in tone as Bawrut’s La Notte and Budakid’s Now, There, Forever bring a distinctive Indie Dance sensibility, coloured by thick synths and vintage club aesthetics. Four Tet’s Into Dust (Still Falling) delivers emotive electronica, standing out as a reflective midpoint. This section is one of the show’s most eclectic, crossing genres while maintaining emotional cohesion.
Closing the set, Vince Watson and Sascha Funke (remixed by Mano Le Tough) return the focus to driving rhythms and immersive builds. Ezequiel Arias’ Perfect Dream ties it all together in classic progressive house fashion. Terence C continues to curate sets that merge cutting-edge electronic music with timeless appeal, delivering a masterful hour for listeners of melodic house, deep techno, indie dance, and beyond.
Tune in live on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, between 6 PM and 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT), and catch the rebroadcast on Sunday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
