Terence C, a respected guest DJ invited by Bicycle Corporation, is set to host the upcoming edition of Electronic Roots 132 on Scientific Sound Asia. As a leading electronic music radio station, event promoter, and DJ agency, Scientific Sound Asia continues to connect audiences across Asia and internationally.
Bicycle Corporation is the creative partnership of Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and accomplished musician Stefano Ugliano, also known by his artist name 6884. Together, they have produced and remixed over 50 original tracks across various strands of House and Techno, building a solid reputation in the global underground scene.
Marco began his career in the early 1990s, inspired by the energy of emerging electronic music and the influence of Afro-inspired rhythms. He later founded Urban People, an organisation that supported House and Techno events throughout Italy. This venture gave Marco valuable experience in music curation and event management, eventually leading to a prestigious residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
This pivotal role significantly expanded his reach, opening doors to international bookings and elevating his profile as a global DJ. His time at Pacha marked the beginning of his journey as an ambassador for underground electronic music on the international stage.
Stefano, originally from Turin, showed early promise as a musician. With the support of his family, he pursued studies in classical piano, percussion, and drums. His influences ranged from the romanticism of Chopin to the complex polyrhythms of West African drumming. This broad foundation has shaped his unique approach to electronic music production.
In the 1990s, when electronic music was still relatively underexposed in Italy, Stefano became captivated by its sound and the role of the DJ. His curiosity and dedication led him to explore the craft in depth, eventually joining forces with Marco to form Bicycle Corporation.
Despite their accomplishments, Marco and Stefano remain grounded. In recent years, they revisited some of their earlier work and launched a Bandcamp page to share their back catalogue with a new audience. This move reflects their continued commitment to their roots and respect for their own artistic evolution.
Electronic Roots is their ongoing radio programme, dedicated to exploring House and Techno while featuring guest artists from across Asia. The show celebrates the region’s thriving underground scene and fosters meaningful connections between local and international talent.

Guest DJ Terence C.
Terence C, a highly respected DJ and producer from Malaysia, steps into the spotlight for this week’s edition of Electronic Roots. Now based in Shanghai, China, Terence brings more than two decades of experience to the turntables, with a reputation built on consistent performances and deep musical knowledge.
Throughout his career, he has held residencies at some of Kuala Lumpur’s most prominent clubs, playing a central role in shaping Malaysia’s House and Techno scenes. His presence has become a fixture in the region’s nightlife, earning widespread recognition and respect within the electronic music community.
Terence has shared the stage with legendary artists such as David Morales, Fatboy Slim, and Pete Tong. His ability to energise the room and connect with crowds has made him a trusted name for high-profile shows, further solidifying his position within the industry.
One of his most notable collaborations has been with John Digweed. Terence has frequently been selected to open for Digweed’s shows in Kuala Lumpur, a partnership that has resulted in numerous standout nights at the iconic Zouk Club. Their shared appearances have left a lasting impression on Malaysia’s club scene and underlined Terence’s reputation as a seasoned professional.
Zouk is recognised globally for its quality events and commitment to electronic music culture. Terence’s ongoing involvement with the brand speaks volumes about his contributions to Malaysia’s nightlife and his ability to operate at the highest level.
Before the pandemic, Terence teamed up with fellow DJ and scene leader DJ XU to create “We Love Techno,” a monthly night at Zouk dedicated to the deeper, more underground side of Techno. Featuring music from influential labels like Drumcode and Cocoon Recordings, the event introduced new sounds to local audiences and built a loyal following.
Under Terence’s guidance and with DJ XU’s support, the series quickly grew into a key platform for innovative music and fresh talent. Together, they helped push the boundaries of Kuala Lumpur’s electronic music culture, offering fans a consistent stream of bold and forward-thinking sets.
Terence first entered the scene in 1998 with the support of DJ Chris Doss, quickly making a name for himself across the country. His early gigs at clubs such as Cubeat and Globar helped him rise steadily through the ranks, setting the stage for bigger opportunities.
A career milestone came when he was chosen to support David Morales during the legendary DJ’s first show in Malaysia. This key booking marked Terence’s breakthrough and firmly established him as a major player in the scene.
In the early 2000s, he continued to build his profile with a residency at Movement Club and regular appearances at respected venues including Backroom, Nouvo, and Atmosphere. His consistent presence contributed to the growth and energy of Malaysia’s thriving club culture.
Terence’s influence has reached far beyond his home city. He has performed at top clubs across Southeast Asia, including Lush in Singapore and Liquid in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2005, he co-founded Altered Image, a multimedia performance project that blended electronic music with visual art.
Alongside collaborators Callen Tham and Digital, Terence created a dynamic audio-visual experience that stood out for its creativity and execution. The project won the Malaysian division of the Heineken Thirst competition, leading to a tour across Southeast Asia and gaining attention for its fresh approach to live performance.
Altered Image brought together cinematic visuals, turntablism, and live effects to produce shows that were both engaging and visually arresting. This project marked a turning point in Terence’s artistic path and demonstrated his commitment to innovation.
In recent years, Terence has embraced the Ableton Live production environment, further refining his sound and expanding his technical range. His hybrid sets, combining decks, CDJs, and digital tools, show his interest in pushing the limits of what’s possible in a live setting.
He is now focusing on studio work, with a number of releases in progress and set to be shared in the coming year. As he continues to develop his sound, fans across Southeast Asia can look forward to hearing more of his signature style in clubs and online.
Terence C remains one of the most important DJs to emerge from Malaysia’s scene, and his presence continues to grow across Asia. His work on Scientific Sound Asia, delivering curated selections of House and Techno, reflects his drive to explore new sounds and his ongoing dedication to the music that inspires him.
DJ Terence C opens episode 132 of Electronic Roots with Casting Shadows by Schlepp Geist, featuring Carmen Mainegra, a moody and melodic track that sets an introspective tone. Of Norway’s L’intemporelle and Laurent Garnier’s Resonances From The D follow with smooth House and Deep House selections, keeping the opening third both groovy and restrained before D. Diggler’s Formation starts to draw the mix deeper into hypnotic territory.
As the set progresses, we hear richly layered cuts like Light The Planet by Andreas Henneberg and Self-Destruct Sequence by Marco Resmann & Kotelett. Hermanez's Stereo and Danny Howells’ Thrunk continue the journey into Progressive and House vibes before Pig & Dan and Ø [Phase] lock in the core direction of the mix with intense Raw and Deep Techno momentum.
In the third quarter, Terence C leans into the heavier, textured side of Techno. Selections from Ma Haiping, Milo Raad, and Connor Wall highlight the DJ’s ear for hypnotic depth and energy. Planetary Assault Systems’ Strange Attractor (Chlär Reassembly) and Mathias Kaden’s Piano Bomb! inject rhythmic tension and release, helping guide the flow toward more kinetic moments.
The episode closes with commanding tracks by Fragmentor, Raxon, Queer On Acid, and Deetron. Miss Suave (Laurent Garnier Remix) makes for a fitting conclusion, merging techno energy with warm tonality. With a strong emphasis on Raw and Hypnotic Techno balanced by thoughtful House and Progressive tracks, Terence C once again demonstrates his deep understanding of underground electronic music.
