Bicycle Corporation have announced guest DJ Brendon P for their Foundations episode 12. The show is broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia, an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter connecting artists and listeners across the region and internationally.

Bicycle Corporation is the Italian duo formed by DJ and producer Marco Mei alongside Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Since forming the project, they have built a catalogue of more than fifty releases and remixes across a range of electronic styles, including Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno, establishing a consistent presence within the underground scene.

Marco Mei began his musical journey in the early 1990s, developing his craft as a DJ and producer while organising events across Italy under the Urban People collective. These events helped him gain recognition within the national scene and led to a residency at the global club brand Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh.

This period marked the beginning of his international career, performing at clubs and festivals worldwide and sharing line-ups with artists such as Roger Sanchez, David Morales and Sander Kleinenberg. His experience across diverse dancefloors has shaped a versatile and refined approach to DJing that continues to inform the Bicycle Corporation sound.

Stefano Ugliano, raised in Torino, developed a strong musical foundation from an early age through the study of classical piano, percussion and drums. Influenced by both classical composers such as Chopin and the rhythmic traditions of West African percussion, he gradually became drawn to electronic music and DJ culture.

During a time when underground electronic sounds were not widely accessible through Italian radio, he sought out new influences through records and events, eventually moving into production and performance. When Marco and Stefano joined forces in 2009, Bicycle Corporation emerged as a project combining technical precision with a shared passion for house and techno.

Their releases have appeared on labels such as Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, GrooveTraxx, Suka and Revox, gaining support from DJs across the international circuit. Alongside their productions, their radio shows continue to reflect a broad musical perspective, often moving beyond strict genre boundaries to explore deeper and more eclectic selections.

For this Foundations episode, they welcome guest DJ Brendon P, a selector known for his deep knowledge of disco, soul, funk and Balearic sounds. His approach is rooted in musical heritage and careful curation, often drawing from rare and classic records while maintaining a timeless dancefloor sensibility.

His inclusion adds another dimension to the show, complementing Bicycle Corporation’s style with a focus on groove-led, genre-spanning selections that reflect the foundations of modern electronic music.

DJ Brendon P, real name Brendon Perera, is a Singaporean DJ and producer known for his understated, low-profile approach and a career that spans more than four decades. He began in 1980 within Singapore’s mobile DJ circuit before transitioning into club environments a year later, laying the foundation for a lifelong involvement in dance music culture.

A formative trip to New York in 1984 introduced him to influential venues such as Funhouse, Paradise Garage, Danceteria and Area. These experiences immersed him in the city’s club culture at a pivotal time, exposing him to the early sounds that would evolve into house music. This period played a defining role in shaping his musical direction and long-term artistic outlook.

Over the years, Brendon P has developed a broad and refined musical identity, drawing from house, techno, disco, nu disco, funk, soul, lounge and electronica. His sets are characterised by depth, musicality and careful progression, reflecting decades of crate digging and an instinctive understanding of dancefloor dynamics.

His career includes an extensive list of residencies and affiliations. During the 1980s he was active in both local and international circuits through collectives such as Juliana’s and Bacchus. In the 1990s, he held residencies with Neo Pharaohs, Venom and NOX, before securing a long-standing nine-year residency at Singapore’s Zouk Club, one of Asia’s most recognised nightlife institutions.

He later held a residency at Kyo and spent five years as part of the resident team at CÉ LA VI at Marina Bay Sands, continuing to remain a regular presence across both local and international club scenes. Internationally, he has performed in cities including Geneva, Gothenburg, Melbourne, London, New York, Miami, Taipei, Hanoi and Hong Kong.

Notably, he also played at the now-closed Cielo Club in New York in 2010, further cementing his connection to the global underground circuit. Alongside DJing, Brendon P has an established production catalogue, with releases and remixes on labels such as In The Woods, Los Grandes, Reversoulmusic, Audio Parallax, Hotbox Music, Soul Shift, Defected, Rawjak, Eclesia, Issys Groove, Love International and One With Music.

His work reflects the same attention to detail and musical integrity found in his DJ sets. Recognised for his refined taste and consistency, he has been described by Nicolas Mattar, owner of New York venues Cielo and Output, as a “taste master” and one of the leading DJs in the region. His sets continue to move fluidly across genres and eras, combining past influences with contemporary selections while maintaining a clear and sophisticated musical identity.

Foundations 12 with Brendon P opens with Chime, setting an early rave tone before Break For Love and Someday establish the foundations of Classic House and US Garage. Reachin’ and Movin’ On continue with soulful vocals and groove-led rhythms, reflecting the crossover between early US House and Garage traditions.

The mix settles into deeper territory through Love Revolution in the Mood II Swing remix and Back In The Dark, both carrying a refined Deep House feel. I Need U and the Deep Dish remix of Hideaway maintain the balance between vocal House and US Garage influence, while Be Yourself and Let Me Show You Love reinforce that late 90s club sound built on swing, soul and groove.

Energy lifts with In Living Colours and Wow, bringing a more direct dancefloor approach, before Let’s Groove and My House underline the roots of US House and its Garage crossover. Passion in the Darren Emerson remix introduces a more progressive edge, expanding the range without losing the core identity of the set.

The final stretch moves into Acperience 1, adding the hypnotic drive of Acid House, before How Can I Love You More in Sasha’s Master Mix closes the show with an ambient and progressive touch. The episode captures a full spectrum of Classic House, Deep House, US Garage and Techno, linking foundational sounds with a broader underground perspective.
