Bicycle Corporation introduce guest DJ Sivanesh for episode 13 of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news outlet, connecting artists and audiences across the region and internationally.

Bicycle Corporation is the Italian duo formed by Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Their music draws from House, Techno and wider electronic influences, balancing club structure with melodic detail.

Marco Mei built his reputation through Italy’s underground electronic scene in the early 1990s. His work with the Urban People collective helped support independent House and Techno events before a Pacha residency opened the door to bookings across Europe, Asia and beyond.

Stefano Ugliano developed his musical foundation in Turin through classical piano, percussion and drums. European composition, West African djembe rhythms and the spread of electronic music across the 1990s all fed into his later work as a producer and DJ.

Electronic Roots grew from the duo’s shared interest in underground music and international club culture. The series presents House, Techno and deeper electronic selections, with guest artists adding further range to each episode.

Singapore-based DJ Sivanesh joins Bicycle Corporation as the guest selector for episode 13 of Electronic Roots. A recognised figure in the island city’s nightlife circuit, he has helped shape its club sound through regular appearances and a key residency at CÉ LA VI in Marina Bay Sands.

During his CÉ LA VI residency, Sivanesh held down the main room with a sound centred on off-kilter House, groove-led Techno and deeper club selections. He has shared line-ups with artists including Chaos In The CBD, d’Julz, Dennis Ferrer, Jasper James, Okain, Oliver Dollar and Rampa.

Early influence from American production duo Mood II Swing helped shape his approach to rhythm, soul and musical quality. Although House sits at the centre of his sound, his sets move beyond strict genre boundaries and focus on selection, mood and club response.

That open approach led to a booking with French platform Cercle, where he warmed up for The Martinez Brothers during its debut Asia show in November 2019. Before the pandemic, he was also a regular presence at Singapore venues including The Council, Tanjong Beach Club and Kilo Lounge.

A strong set at Wonderfruit Festival in Thailand in 2019 helped open further regional bookings. These included appearances at W Hotel and Iron Fairies in Kuala Lumpur during the first half of 2020.

In 2020, Sivanesh stepped away from his CÉ LA VI residency to start Sivilian Affairs with his partner Lilian Hautemulle. The organisation focuses on intimate parties and places emphasis on minority local and regional talent.

His guest appearance on Electronic Roots brings a Singaporean underground perspective to the series. Updates, mixes and event information can be found through his Resident Advisor profile, Instagram, SoundCloud and Facebook page.

Bicycle Corporation Electronic Roots episode 13 features DJ Sivanesh with a selection rooted in House Music and deeper club forms. Nami Shimada and Soichi Terada’s Sunshower opens with a classic House reference before DJ T.’s Maceo Plex remix of City Life moves into a sharper Tech House space.

Lazaro Casanova, Oscar G and Futro bring Murk Records into focus through Pussy Palace, linking the early section to Miami House lineage. djB’s Da Capo 09 keeps the House structure intact before Jovonn’s Can’t Hold it Back shifts the programme towards Deep House.

Rhythm&Soul’s Djebali remix of 1998 adds a soulful and gospel-rooted Deep House character, matching the Silver Network release context. Apes Go Bananas, Steve Bug and Clé then move through the James Dexter remix of Kerri On, keeping the sound warm, restrained and rhythmically detailed.

The two ID track entries sit naturally inside the House section before Kings Of Tomorrow’s Fade II Black brings a Yoshitoshi deep dub reference into the middle of the set. Sakro’s Lemonade returns to House, while DJ W!ld’s Last Summer receives a Kerri Chandler remix that adds a deeper late-night mood despite its broader electronic listing.

Noir and Haze’s Around appears through Solomun’s Vox version, bringing one of the more recognisable Deep House moments into the programme. Andrea Di Rocco follows with The Past Present, using old-school rhythmic elements within a House and Tech House framework.

Je Davu’s edit of Trancesetters and Peace Division moves briefly into Progressive House territory, drawing from the Roaches lineage. Def Jaguar and Flip then return the sequence to Tech House through This Sound before the final ID keeps the mix grounded in House.

Tree Threes’ Feelin’ It introduces a slow-burning Minimal / Deep Tech section, matching Morris Audio’s description of the track’s deep minimal feel. Phil Weeks then brings Robsoul’s raw House identity into the closing stretch through My Music.

Julian Perez’s Road to Dub keeps the late section stripped and dub-focused, fitting his wider House, Techno and Minimal background. Janeret, Gladis, Diego Krause and Alex Arnout close the episode with Deep House and House selections, ending DJ Sivanesh’s set with a controlled underground groove.
