Andrew Welman has announced the tracklist for Groove Theory 4Â on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an underground electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter while also publishing music news and connecting underground electronic music audiences across Asia and internationally.
Originally from Montreal, Canada, Andrew Welman is a DJ, producer and long-time electronic music enthusiast whose sound is shaped by deep grooves, soulful rhythms and underground club culture. Alongside his DJ work, he continues developing his own productions in the studio, exploring a sound rooted in house music while drawing influence from a broad range of electronic styles.
After spending several years focused on a separate career path, Andrew made the decision to fully reconnect with his long-standing passion for DJing and music production. This renewed direction allowed him to return with a clearer artistic vision centred on sharing carefully curated underground electronic music with wider audiences through both radio and live performance.
His influences include artists such as Carl Cox, Honey Dijon and Eats Everything, whose approaches to groove, energy and dancefloor dynamics have helped shape his own musical identity. These influences can be heard through his blend of Deep House, Soulful House, Funky House and Tech House.
Andrew currently holds multiple house music radio residencies internationally, continuing to expand his presence through carefully selected underground sets and independently curated shows. His approach focuses less on fast-paced transitions and more on building atmosphere gradually through hypnotic grooves, rolling basslines and rhythm-driven progression.
For Andrew, DJing is centred around mood and connection. His sets are designed to draw listeners into subtle movement and immersion, favouring tracks that create an instinctive physical response through groove and flow rather than obvious impact. This philosophy has become a defining characteristic of his sound both on radio and in club environments.
Alongside his broadcasting work, he continues performing regularly at underground events across Canada, where he has developed a reputation for groove-led sets capable of maintaining steady dancefloor energy over extended periods. His selections move fluidly between soulful textures, deeper house rhythms and more driving Tech House structures while maintaining a cohesive underground feel throughout.
Episode 4 of Groove Theory with Andrew Welman opens the session with Dave Brubeck’s Take Five in the Parra for Cuva remix, immediately blending jazz influences with groove-led House rhythms. Cro Magnon’s Patchwork Jazz continues the Disco-driven atmosphere before Osunlade’s Black Woman Cry introduces deeper Afro House percussion and soulful underground textures.
Phil Unique’s Believe and Dam Swindle’s Good Woman maintain the warm House direction, balancing Deep House grooves with melodic club energy. Acid Mondays briefly shift the mix toward Breakbeat territory through Universal Rhythms, while Tiptoes and Restless Soul restore a smoother House flow through Techno Woo and Mama.
The middle section leans heavily into groove-focused underground House through Jazzamplers’ First Lady and Una Mas’ I Will Follow You. Tibasko introduces a more crossover Dance atmosphere with Body Wrap, before Cold Smack Attack’s Jazz Like Dat tightens the rhythm with a Tech House edge rooted in jazzy club textures.
Terrence Parker’s Dynamic Audio and Darius Syrrosian’s Funkflex continue the energetic House Music direction with tougher rolling percussion and classic dancefloor grooves. Cajmere featuring Dajae’s Brighter Days in the Marco Lys remix and Riva Starr alongside Soul City Connection and Phebe Edwards’ Brotherly Love Divine in the Mark Broom remix reinforce the soulful underground atmosphere.
The final stretch develops through Flaze’s Resolve and Dense & Pika’s Shank, balancing Deep House warmth with darker club-driven House rhythms. Honey Dijon featuring Cakes Da Killa adds a vibrant modern House moment through Catch The Beat, while Jacques Pepper’s Praise You keeps the groove flowing. Carl Cox raises the peak-time intensity with Line Lock before Low Steppa and Madben close the episode with Quarantine and Stripes, ending the session with a blend of House energy and darker Electronica textures.
