Episode 711 of After Hours delivers a deep and emotive Progressive House journey, curated and hosted by Belgian DJ and producer PatriZe. Broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia, the Vietnam-based radio platform, promoter and DJ agency, the series continues to connect underground electronic music communities across Asia with the wider international scene.

Now based in Thailand, PatriZe has established himself as a respected voice within the global Progressive House movement. His sound draws from early Trance and Techno influences, shaped into long-form journeys defined by smooth melodic flow, restrained tension and a strong sense of narrative. His approach allows tracks to unfold gradually, prioritising emotion and progression over immediacy.

Performing alongside artists such as Guy J and Pole Folder played an important role in refining his technical and expressive style. A key milestone came in 2010 when he won the Night Museum DJ Competition, opening the door to broader international exposure. This momentum led to the launch of AH Digital in 2015, founded with Hypnotised as a dedicated outlet for underground Progressive House.

The label’s debut release, Inhabitants of Another Realm, reached the Beatport Top 20 and helped establish AH Digital as a trusted platform for quality, forward-thinking releases. More recently, PatriZe’s 2025 remix of The Loon on the label highlighted the continued evolution of his sound, combining atmosphere, precision and melodic depth.

As the driving force behind After Hours, PatriZe remains committed to both musical integrity and long-term platform building. Alongside residencies at Beachspot and Thai Lounge and Terrace in Pattaya, and regular appearances on Frisky Radio’s Rising Sun and Proton Radio’s AH Digital Essentials, he continues to shape the series as a space for thoughtful, emotionally resonant Progressive House Music.

After Hours welcomes Rod V, a Guatemalan DJ and producer known for his live performances and technical command of gear, as well as a consistent body of electronic music released internationally. Recognised as a leading figure in Central America’s underground electronic scene, his work spans studio production, live sets and collaborative projects that have connected him with audiences across the globe.

His catalogue reflects both depth and diversity. Rod V’s releases have appeared on respected labels such as Cuberec, Silk Music and A Must Have, showcasing his ability to move seamlessly between deep, atmospheric zones and more groove-oriented house expressions.

Notable entries include the Electric Sun EP on Cenital Music, which highlighted powerful synth work, hypnotic arpeggios and a deep, dancefloor-focused sensibility. More recently, the Flowing Memories EP on Future Avenue saw him collaborating with 4T6 and Colorfuse, adding fresh perspectives to his evolving sound.

His discography also includes standout tracks and remixes such as Despues Del Diluvio, Dreamteller and a series of reinterpretations of Flowing Memories that underline his versatility as a producer. Whether in the studio or performing live, Rod V’s work is characterised by a continuous exploration of sound and melody.

He has a grounding in rhythm, and this is borne out of a genuine connection to electronic music culture. Supported by peers and selectors around the world, he remains a committed and forward-moving presence within the underground.

The first hour, mixed by PatriZe, unfolds as a smooth and immersive Progressive House journey. From the outset, flowing melodies and steady rhythmic progression define the mood, with each selection building calmly on the last. The pacing remains patient and emotive, favouring atmosphere and continuity over dramatic peaks.

As the hour develops, deeper melodic textures and layered arrangements take centre stage. Tracks such as Terminal Five and Deep Water Temple reinforce a sense of space and reflection, while the reform of Love In Traffic brings a subtle lift without breaking the hypnotic flow established throughout the set.

The second hour shifts focus as Rod V takes control, presenting a more personal and introspective Progressive House session. His own productions play a central role, with Flowing Memories opening the hour and establishing a signature sound built on warmth, melody and restraint. The surrounding selections maintain cohesion, supporting a consistent and emotionally driven direction.

The closing stretch deepens that identity with Rod V’s Miracles and Innerself, weaving his productions naturally into the flow rather than presenting them as standalone moments.
