Episode 685 of After Hours is hosted by Belgian DJ and producer PatriZe, featuring a guest mix by Cendryma. Broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia, an electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency headquartered in Vietnam, the show continues to spotlight international talent through regular programming and events based around Ho Chi Minh City.

Now living in Thailand, PatriZe has carved out a respected place in the global Progressive House scene. Known for his carefully crafted transitions and emotionally rich selections, his sound draws on early influences from Trance and Techno but has matured into a melodic, subtle, and deeply atmospheric style.

He has performed across Europe and Southeast Asia, with a defining moment in 2010 when he appeared alongside Guy J and Pole Folder. That same year, his profile grew significantly after winning the Night Museum DJ Competition, leading to more widespread recognition.

In 2015, he teamed up with long-time collaborator Hypnotised to establish AH Digital. Their debut release, Inhabitants of Another Realm, reached the Beatport Top 20 in both Techno and Tech House and later received a remix from Rui Da Silva. Since then, AH Digital has become a key player in the Progressive House scene, with numerous chart appearances and a growing artist roster.

PatriZe remains active in Pattaya’s underground circuit, with ongoing residencies at Beachspot and Thai Lounge & Terrace. He also appears on major platforms including Frisky Radio’s Rising Sun and Proton Radio’s AH Digital Essentials, while continuing to host After Hours, a series that remains committed to exploring Progressive House and elevating emerging artists from around the world.

Daniel Sampson, professionally known as Cendryma, is a progressive house producer and DJ from Oregon, USA. His sound is deeply influenced by the rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest, incorporating natural elements like rainfall and oceanic ambience into his compositions.

Drawing from the moody solitude of winter and the intensity of coastal weather, his productions often feature layered textures, atmospheric pads, and subtle organic samples that create a sense of movement and emotional depth. Daniel began his journey in electronic music in 2007.

His first public releases came under the trance alias Tecnosine, before transitioning to downtempo in 2020. While studying jazz and pop music in college, focusing on clarinet he began experimenting with electronic production in his dorm room, blending his classical training with a growing passion for dance music.

By 2022, he introduced the alias Sam Cydan and released a series of tracks that explored deeper emotional resonance. However, it was in 2023 that he fully embraced his current moniker, Cendryma, representing a shift into progressive house with ambient and melodic overtones. This project reflects his desire to push beyond the traditional structures of trance and explore broader creative elements.

Cendryma cites key influences such as Dutch artist Alex O'Rion, Australian duo GMJ & Matter, and the Meanwhile label, alongside Marsh and the UK-based Anjunadeep imprint. These artists and labels helped define the melodic foundation of his current sound. Though his roots lie in trance, Cendryma’s work today is more organic and groove-driven, avoiding rigid structures in favour of flowing arrangements and emotive progressions.

His production process is loop-based and intuitive, often allowing tracks to grow naturally over time. He uses FL Studio as his main DAW and relies on synths such as u‑He Diva, Repro-1, Spire, and Omnisphere to sculpt his melodic lines and atmospheric textures.

In 2024, he launched Cydana Sounds, his own label, which serves as a personal creative outlet. Although future collaborations are possible, the label currently focuses on releasing his solo work. His early releases as Cendryma include the Terraform/Wired EP, Function, and the recent Era Mobilus EP. His track "Pass Through," released on Forty Cats’ Purrfection Records, has garnered attention for its emotional depth and dancefloor appeal.

2025 has seen further success with the “Effective Loss / Particular Movement” EP on Higher States and the “Override” EP on Purrfection. He has also signed upcoming material to respected labels such as Pattern and UV. Cendryma has been featured on international radio shows and mix series, including Ottawa’s Prog Vibes and other underground streaming outlets.

As a DJ, his sets are known for their slow builds, textured transitions, and a blend of introspective ambient passages with rolling, melodic grooves. With his evolving catalogue and unique blend of emotion and rhythm, Cendryma is emerging as a rising voice in the global progressive house scene.

PatriZe opens episode 685 with Francis James’ Reflections in a hypnotic Thomas Ferrell remix, easing into a smooth and refined Progressive House journey. Ferrell’s own Afterhours continues the tone, followed by emotionally charged tracks like Adagio by Vagner Silveira and Moonlight by Erich LH in Neuralis’ remix. Each selection carries the deep, melodic mood forward while retaining club-ready energy.

The set continues to build with tracks like Alfa Crux by Brian De Santis and Odeysse in Agustin Chadez’s remix, both released on AH Digital. PatriZe draws from a thoughtful palette, with highlights like Michael A’s remix of Fancy Mars by Key Lean and Growler by Gowzer offering textured and percussive progressions that anchor the mid-section of the mix.

Agustin Gatti’s Master Whispers and HAFT’s remix of Sorry I’m Late wrap up the first hour with a rich, introspective edge, firmly within the progressive house tradition but with clear emotional weight and modern punch.

Cendryma’s second hour opens in ambient territory with Alonefold’s Tidal Sky Drift, followed by deeper cuts like Foggy Morning by Brann (AR) and the remix of Secret Temple by ARTN. The set flows through melodic and atmospheric terrain, blending ambient and progressive elements. Closing with Sierras by Tony Anderson, the hour delivers a cinematic and spacious finale to an expansive and immersive episode.
