Cali’s HouseNation Radio returns this Saturday on Scientific Sound Asia, hosted by DJ Nocturne of Digital Audio Kingz. This week’s episode opens with a set from Nocturne before passing the decks to Chicago-based RoseRed, who delivers a guest mix overflowing with groove, rhythm, and uplifting house energy.

Nocturne, originally from Los Angeles, began his career in 2007 performing as DJ Turiz, moving fluidly between reggaeton, hip hop, and Latin genres such as bachata, merengue, salsa, and cumbia. His infectious energy and versatility quickly earned him a reputation across Southern California’s club scene, where he became known for reading the room and keeping dance floors alive.

In 2013, he shifted his focus to electronic music, co-founding Digital Audio Kingz with DJ MORE and securing regular FM radio slots. By 2018, he rebranded as Nocturne and launched Cali’s HouseNation Radio, a house and dance mix series that has since evolved into a globally syndicated show through the CHNR Syndication Network.

Now based in San Diego while staying closely connected to Los Angeles, Nocturne continues to expand his creative range through projects like On the Deep End, which explores deep, progressive, and melodic house and techno, alongside his Deep House Sessions under DAK Music. His productions reflect a dedication to sharing the heart and energy of house culture with audiences around the world.

This week’s guest, RoseRed, brings the unmistakable spirit of Chicago house to the mix. With Nocturne’s refined vision and RoseRed’s Chicago-flavoured energy, this week’s Cali’s HouseNation Radio promises an inspiring journey through the many layers of house music, bridging its soulful roots and forward-looking future.

RoseRed is an established producer, DJ, and vocalist based in Chicago, Illinois, whose sound embodies the city’s rich house music legacy. Her passion for music began early, inspired by the rhythms of Latin, jazz, disco, funk, R&B, and gospel.

Her journey into house music began in 2000 at the age of 19, after meeting a group of local DJs who introduced her to Chicago’s vibrant underground scene. The energy of the dance floor and the spirit of unity within the house community left a lasting impact. Drawn to the funky, jazzy rhythms and jacking beats, Rose began collecting records and crafting her own sound, shaped by the influence of artists such as Lil Louis, Paul Johnson, Derrick Carter, Cajmere, Mark Farina, Lego, DJ Dan, DJ Jes, and the Super Jane collective.

Within a year, Rose’s talent began to attract attention from promoters and fellow DJs. She soon landed her first residency in Wrigleyville, where she refined her mixing skills and developed a distinctive style that blends soulful, groovy vocals with jackin’, Latin, Afro, and tech house influences. Her sets move fluidly between uplifting energy and deep, percussive grooves, a versatility that continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

Over the years, she has shared stages with house luminaries including Lil Louis, Mark Farina, DJ Heather, DJ Colette, DJ Mes, Miguel Migs, and Andre Hatchett, performing everywhere from intimate lounges to large outdoor festivals and some of Chicago’s most iconic clubs. Her residencies have included Never Have I Ever with Housebroken Events Chicago, DJ International Radio, Phrostvybe Radio, and Esmeralda’s Caribbean Cocktail Lounge. She also co-hosts two livestream shows, The Red Lab and The Red Garden, on Twitch @HouseNationMusic, and is a resident and co-host on DaBooth312 Radio 88.9FM.

In 2022, RoseRed expanded into music production, quickly gaining recognition from leading figures in Chicago’s house scene. Her debut EP Our World was released in early 2023 on S&S Records, the legendary label founded by Steve “Silk” Hurley and Shannon “DJ Skip” Syas. The release received strong support from DJs and producers across the house community.

In early 2025, RoseRed followed up with Sneak Up On It, a collaboration with DJ Seven, which reached #14 on Traxsource’s Top 100 Jackin House, featured on the Weekend Weapons chart, and hit #8 on Jackin Essentials and #71 on the Hype Chart. On Beatport, it became the #1 Most Recommended Track, #6 in Best New Jackin House, and #6 in Top Ten Releases for January. Her most recent collaboration, What A Rush on House Global Alliance, has earned widespread acclaim for its vibrant groove and infectious energy.

With a growing catalogue of releases and an unwavering commitment to the craft, RoseRed continues to push forward as one of Chicago’s most dynamic house artists, blending authenticity, soul, and drive into every performance and production.

DJ Nocturne opens the first hour with soulful Deep House from Crackazat’s In The Sky (Kaap Remix), Canavezzi’s Mantra, and DP-6’s Peace Of Mind, laying down a smooth and atmospheric start. Tiger Stripes’ Far Out and Lavenge & Shirali’s We Are One deepen the groove with warm, hypnotic energy before shifting into the upbeat pulse of House.

The flow continues with Jay Vegas’ Happy Days (Classic Club Mix) and Claptone’s Put Your Love On Me (Marco Lys Extended Mix), bringing an injection of classic dancefloor spirit. Darius Syrossian’s Tengo La Musica builds momentum toward a Tech House peak, where Kaiser Waldon & Lloyd Nwagboso’s Feel The Beat and Angel Heredia’s Need To Feel Love close the hour in full rhythm and drive.

Rose Red takes over the second hour with bold Tech House selections, starting strong with Jewel Kid’s Oh Lord and James Hurr’s You Get Down. Angel Heredia & Frenzy Music’s No No No and Hatiras’ Hypnotized keep the percussive energy flowing, while Hardcopy’s La Busola and Camila Jun’s Let Me Feel layer in deeper club textures.

The mix intensifies with Sven Tasnadi’s Cuckoo and Crusy & Alex Now’s Supersonic, merging groove and grit in perfect balance. Hoxton Whores’ Don’t Go (The Refresh) and Deep Fiktion’s Versions Of You close the episode on a euphoric note, blending soulful hooks with late-night drive. Cali’s HouseNation Radio once again unites California and Asia through rhythm, energy, and timeless house culture.

Tune in to the live broadcast of the show on Saturday, October 11th, between 4 PM and 6 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you can't catch it live, you have another chance to listen on Wednesday from 4 AM to 6 AM (ICT).
