Cali’s HouseNation Radio returns this Saturday on Scientific Sound Asia, hosted by DJ Nocturne of Digital Audio Kingz. This week’s edition opens with a set from Nocturne himself before handing the decks to Los Angeles–based DJ Basekit, who brings a guest mix full of fresh grooves and vibrant house energy.

Nocturne, originally from Los Angeles, began his career in 2007 under the name DJ Turiz. His early sets moved between Reggaeton, Hip-Hop, and Latin genres such as Bachata, Merengue, Salsa, and Cumbia, earning him recognition across Southern California’s club circuit. His versatility and energy behind the decks soon made him a fixture in the region’s nightlife.

In 2013, he shifted focus to electronic music, forming Digital Audio Kingz with DJ MORE and securing slots on FM radio. By 2018, he rebranded as Nocturne and launched Cali’s HouseNation Radio, a house and dance mix show that has since grown into a globally syndicated series through the CHNR Syndication Network.

Now based in San Diego while keeping close ties to Los Angeles, Nocturne continues to expand his sound through projects like On the Deep End, which explores Deep, Progressive, and Melodic House and Techno, alongside his Deep House Sessions. Released under DAK Music, his work highlights his mission to share the spirit and energy of house music with audiences worldwide.

With Nocturne’s established vision and Basekit’s underground edge, this week’s show promises a journey across house music’s many dimensions, celebrating both its roots and its future.

This week’s guest on Cali’s HouseNation Radio is BASEKIT, a Los Angeles–based DJ and co-creator of The Playroom, a weekly mix series dedicated to house and its many shades. Active since the late 1990s, he has developed a sound that blends deep, tech, bass-driven, and tribal grooves, delivering sets that balance underground energy with timeless club culture.

His selections move fluidly between soulful rhythms and harder-edged beats, always keeping the dancefloor at the centre of the experience. Through The Playroom, which he hosts alongside DJ Jungle George, BASEKIT has created a platform that celebrates the diversity of house music.

The show brings together deep grooves, nu disco influences, and Latin house flavours, offering listeners a journey through global club sounds. With each episode, BASEKIT showcases his instinctive ability to read the flow of a mix, weaving tracks into seamless, evolving sessions.

A fixture in Los Angeles’ scene, his presence behind the decks reflects decades of dedication to the craft. Whether in clubs, on the radio, or through recorded sessions, BASEKIT continues to push house culture forward while honouring its roots. His mixes carry the spirit of classic house into the present, blending tradition and innovation in equal measure.

DJ Nocturne’s first hour begins with a wave of house tracks, from House Chose Me by KPD to Spencer Brown’s Ladies Love LFOs and Kristin Velvet’s Let The Music Play. Fuzzy Hair’s remix of Got It and Radio Slave & Nathalie Duchene’s We Are Youth reinforce the groove. Gorge & Nick Curly’s Cale De Bou and Jay de Lys’ Someday keep the house spirit strong, while Tommy Morgan’s You Are Real injects a smooth, deep-leaning vibe.

The set transitions into tech house with Rony Seikaly’s The Party and Simon Doty’s No Sleep (Jorhav Remix). Resco (US) and RSquared follow with tight percussive workouts, while Jewel Kid’s Erotik and Elias R & Nicole Fiallo’s Tambor bring a harder club focus. Gustaff & Tomi&Kesh maintain the momentum on Drop Dat Neck, and Holl & Rush close Nocturne’s set with mainstage flair on Napoleon.

Basekit takes over with Jewel Kid’s Go Hard and Mark Knight & James Hurr’s You Take Me Higher, pushing the house and tech house blend forward. Capri & Low Steppa add bounce with Got The Funk, while Hatiras’ Hypnotized and Blank Sense’s Shy deliver tech house punch. Mark Knight & Roland Clark’s Televised keeps things powerful, before Cajmere & Dajae’s Brighter Days inject classic house soul.

The final stretch moves through afro and Latin textures with Green Velvet & Bontan’s Percolator remix, Toman’s Verano En NY, and Green Velvet & Shermanology’s Hotter. Harry Romero’s Paradise II and Tony Romero’s Time To Move bring it back to house, while Armand Van Helden’s timeless I Want Your Soul wraps the two-hour session with a nod to classic club history.

Tune in to the live broadcast of the show on Saturday, September 27th, between 4 PM and 6 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you can't catch it live, you have another chance to listen on Wednesday from 4 AM to 6 AM (ICT).
