Marco Mei of Bicycle Corporation has published the playlist for the next edition of his radio show. The programme is broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia, the Asian electronic music radio station, event promoter and DJ agency that supports DJs and producers across the region and internationally.
Marco Mei originates from Turin, Italy and has been active as a DJ for more than three decades. His early musical influences came from Afrocentric rhythms, funk and the emerging electronic sounds that began shaping European club culture during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Drawn to these sounds, he began collecting vinyl records and immersing himself in the growing underground scene.
As the Italian rave movement expanded in the early 1990s, Marco co-founded the event brand Urban People, helping organise parties and club nights across Italy. These events became part of the country’s developing electronic music culture and allowed him to refine his skills as a DJ while building a reputation within the wider scene.
His profile grew further when he secured a residency at the renowned Pacha Club in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. The residency opened the door to international bookings and marked an important step in his career as he began performing regularly outside Italy.
In 2009, Marco joined forces with fellow Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, to form the production duo Bicycle Corporation. Combining their studio experience and shared passion for house and techno, the project quickly developed a catalogue of releases spanning Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno. Since forming the duo they have produced more than fifty original tracks and remixes, with releases appearing on labels such as Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, GrooveTraxx and Suka.
Marco Mei's DJ career has taken him across the world, performing at clubs and events in Europe, Asia and beyond. His appearances have included venues such as Fuse in Brussels, Room 18 in Taipei, Bangaluu in Berlin, G-Star in Thailand, SOS Supper Club in Indonesia, NLO in Belarus and Arcan in Ho Chi Minh City. Over the years, he has shared line-ups with internationally recognised artists including David Morales, Roger Sanchez, Sander Kleinenberg, Justin Berkmann, Harry Romero and Ralph Falcon.
Now based in Taipei, where he relocated in 2010, Marco remains an active figure within the Asian electronic music scene. He performs regularly across the region while continuing to develop new productions and radio broadcasts.
His weekly show on Scientific Sound Asia reflects this wide musical background, presenting a diverse range of underground club music including Deep House, Tech House, Afro House, Nu Disco, Indie Dance, Electronica, Melodic Techno and Techno. Through these broadcasts, Marco continues to share the depth of his musical collection and decades of experience with listeners around the world.
