Marco Mei, the veteran Italian DJ and producer behind Bicycle Corporation, returns with a new edition of his long-running radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. The station remains a key platform for underground electronic and urban music across Asia, connecting global audiences through its broadcasts, events and international artist network.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Marco has developed a distinctive sound rooted in Afro-influenced rhythms, deep house grooves and dynamic club energy. His refined musical sensibility and instinctive understanding of the dancefloor have earned him a loyal following across Europe, Asia and beyond.

Marco’s journey began in the early 1990s in Turin, where he immersed himself in the city’s underground club culture. His growing passion for house, techno and Afro-centric patterns led him to co-found the Urban People collective, which played a formative role in shaping Italy’s early electronic music movement through forward-thinking events and club nights.

International recognition followed through a key residency at Pacha Sharm el-Sheikh, opening the door to performances at respected venues worldwide, including Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2009, he joined forces with Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, forming Bicycle Corporation and releasing more than fifty tracks and remixes across Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno on labels such as Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx.

Now based in Taipei, Marco continues to play an influential role in the region’s underground scene. Through his Scientific Sound Asia radio series, he channels decades of experience into carefully curated selections that reflect his dedication to club culture and his ongoing contribution to the global electronic music landscape.

DJ Marco Mei’s episode 39 opens with Todd Terry’s Devils Dance reborn through Cinthie’s funky Hard Times reinterpretation, setting a groove-led tone from the outset. Lane 8 and Arctic Lake’s The Choice follows with Sofia Kourtesis’s emotionally charged This Never Happened remix, before Mia Moretti’s Safe With Me arrives in David Morales’s soulful Crosstown Rebels version, bringing warmth and vocal depth into the early flow.

The set shifts into deeper and more stripped-back territory as M-Plant’s Lyric introduces a minimal tech pulse. Hifi Sean pays homage to Lovers and Aretha Franklin through Plastique’s nu-disco treatment, while DJ Duke’s Feel It carries a Future Disco feel on Power Music. Flight Facilities then lock the mood into late-night nostalgia with Forever In My Room, featuring the timeless voice of Everything But The Girl.

Midway through the journey, Johannes Albert delivers Tremendous Thrill on Frank Music alongside the experimental textures of Unbalanced Love Portfolio for Permanent Vacation. Gerald Mitchell lifts the body and mind with ethereal Detroit tones on Body Language, before Avision’s Hot Key sharpens the mood on Ellum. Dino Lenny follows with Not About The Volume on Rekids, pushing the set toward darker, hypnotic club territory.

As the energy smooths out again, Brunello drifts into hazy deep house on Nervous Records with Lost In The Mellow. Emanuel Satie brings vocal uplift via Defected, while HIGHLITE’s Beverly on Diynamic introduces sunset-ready melodic warmth. Nando’s All The Time on Olde Tapes and CASSIMM’s Over You on DVINE Sounds maintain a steady, groove-focused progression rooted in modern house sensibilities.

The closing stretch blends classic house spirit with contemporary flair. Chez Damier and Supernova revisit Can You Feel It for DFTD, Duck Sauce inject high energy with Can’t Stop under KiNK’s remix, and Phunkie Souls float the session home on Classic Music Company. Episode 39 unfolds as a carefully balanced late-night selection, weaving deep house soul, melodic techno elegance and disco-infused warmth into a refined underground journey perfectly suited to the after-hours of 2025.

Don't miss DJ Marco Mei's live performance on Saturday, December 13th, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you're unable to tune in to the live broadcast, you can catch the replay on Wednesday from 6 to 8 AM ICT.
