This Sunday, DJ Kafka presents a new edition of his monthly show on Scientific Sound Asia, the online Asian radio station, DJ agency, music news publisher and event management company with a growing global presence.
Sai Subramanian, better known as DJ Kafka, is widely regarded as one of India’s leading DJs. A graduate of the Spin DJ Academy, he has built a strong profile through appearances at events including Tavern, Brighton, Lush, HQ, Purple Haze and Vie Lounge. His performances combine technical precision with stylistic versatility, helping him establish a consistent presence on dancefloors across India and internationally.
Kafka is recognised for immersive sets where Techno, Electronica and Experimental elements merge with Deep House, Tech House and Progressive sounds. His approach focuses on progression and atmosphere, allowing transitions to develop naturally while maintaining a strong connection to the dancefloor. This balance between experimentation and accessibility has contributed to his growing reputation within global electronic music circles.
His international presence continues to expand through guest features on stations such as Play FM in Austria, Desert Island Decks and Studio Lux FM in Luxembourg. Drawing influence from artists including Massive Attack, Cristian Paduraru and Skream, he shapes sets that combine rhythmic energy with deeper melodic and textural layers.
Beyond radio and club performances, Kafka has collaborated with event partners including Kroniq, T3Entertainment, Wizard Networks, The Midnight Project and Sync Entertainment. These projects have further extended his reach, reinforcing his ability to adapt across different environments while maintaining a consistent musical identity.
In recent years, his career has continued to progress through collaborations with labels such as Visiomind Records in Vienna and upcoming work with Mechanic and Tropic Records in Mexico City. These releases reflect an expanding catalogue that moves across house and techno while retaining a focus on atmosphere and structure.
His achievements include winning the Maxximixx DJ Awards in Israel in 2021 and the HMRPool DJ Contest in Trinidad and Tobago in 2022. These milestones highlight his growing international recognition and underline his position as a developing force within contemporary electronic music.
Today, DJ Kafka continues to refine his sound through both performance and production, maintaining a forward-thinking approach that connects audiences across regions. His work reflects a clear commitment to musical exploration, cultural exchange and the evolving language of underground electronic music.
A shift toward House emerges with Oden and Fatzo alongside Peggy Gou, where Tell Me What You Want and It Goes Like Nanana introduce a more melodic and accessible feel. Chris Lorenzo and Disco Lines bring in crossover energy, while Hayden James and AR/CO maintain the Dance Music influence.
The middle section blends Tech House and House as Hatiras, Mr. Belt and Wezol and Fisher keep the energy consistent. Prospa and Pawsa return to a more groove-led House direction, while Armand Van Helden’s The Funk Phenomena adds a classic club reference.
Momentum builds into heavier territory with Adam Port and Stryv, where the Anyma and Cassian remix introduces a Techno edge. Sonjo and HNTR bring melodic depth, while Sean Paul’s Get Busy in its Bass House form adds a high-energy variation.
The later stages move firmly into Techno as Gary Beck and Mr. Ciao introduce a darker tone, followed by Axel Karakasis and John Summit pushing into Peak Time and Hard Techno territory. Danny Avila and Matt Sassari maintain this intensity, while Max Styler’s rework of Greece 2000 briefly introduces a Trance element.
The closing stretch is driven by Peak Time Techno selections from A.D.H.S., Mha Iri, Mark Michael and Umek, before Hi-Lo and Eli Brown’s Industria brings the set to a powerful finish. Across the full session, DJ Kafka moves from Tech House and House into a high-energy Techno-driven finale, maintaining a strong club-focused flow throughout.
Tune in to the live broadcast on Sunday, April 26th, 2026, from 8 PM to 10 PM Indochina Time (ICT). A replay will be accessible on Thursday, from 8 AM to 10 AM (ICT).
