DJ Joshua announces his track list for Velvety Elements 309.

Velvety Elements returns with a new edition hosted by DJ Joshua on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, while also publishing music news and connecting audiences across the region and internationally.

Based in Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has been immersed in electronic music culture since the 1990s. His long-standing relationship with vinyl, cassettes, CDs and digital formats reflects decades of commitment to underground sound and DJ culture.

Although his musical journey has spanned techno, drum and bass and chillout, house music has remained central to his artistic identity. His sets focus on groove, soul and emotional depth, maintaining a consistent connection to both classic and contemporary house influences.

During quieter periods for Portugal’s underground movement, he remained active by organising events and collaborating with fellow artists. These efforts helped sustain a resilient local scene while strengthening his role within the community.

After stepping away from music to focus on family life, he returned with renewed direction through his online radio show, Floating Beats. The series developed into a recognised platform for melodic and forward-thinking electronic music.

Velvety Elements followed as a complementary project focused on deeper and more soulful interpretations of house. The show explores warm textures and flowing structures, reflecting a more introspective and refined side of his musical approach.

Working under aliases including K Joshua, Joshua Marian, Joshua Fernand and Joshua Onairam, he continues to explore multiple creative directions. Each project highlights a different aspect of his sound, from minimal grooves to melodic and cinematic compositions.

In 2024, he launched JFLM Recordings as a platform for his own productions while supporting underground artists. The label has since developed into an outlet for both solo work and collaborations, reinforcing his ongoing commitment to the scene.

Under the Joshua Marian alias, releases such as the Nobody Waiting For Me EP on Back to the Beat expanded his focus on groove-led house. Tracks like Just Love and Chance With Soul further explored this direction with refined melodic detail and structured progression.

In 2025, his K Joshua single Light of Faith introduced a more introspective tone within his catalogue. The release combines deep house rhythms with melodic phrasing that balances reflection with forward movement.

Through Velvety Elements, Joshua continues to develop a clear and evolving musical identity. Each episode unfolds as a carefully structured journey, reflecting the enduring character, depth and emotional resonance of house music.

Velvety Elements 309 by DJ Joshua opens with a smooth Deep House introduction as Intr0beatz and Harrison BDP establish the groove through Move With Me and So What, before Joey Coco shifts into a more classic House direction with Apply Yourself. Manuel Kane continues the flow with House Music (Is Lived), keeping the rhythm warm and steady.

Momentum builds through Nick Curly and Shahrokh Dini, where Switching Levels and Owl Flight deepen the atmosphere with refined, late-night textures. Armand Van Helden introduces a Latin and Tribal influence with Entra Mi Casa, adding variation while maintaining the groove.

The middle section continues with Man Power and Leon Benesty with Chicago Hustle, where Zang Tum Tumb and Whipped keep the set grounded in House with a club-focused feel. Yannick Roberts returns to a deeper tone with Anyone, reinforcing the set’s consistent flow.

The closing stretch moves into Minimal and Deep Tech territory as Rooléh’s Daylight in the Toman remix adds a more stripped-back, rolling finish. The set maintains a cohesive balance between Deep House and House throughout, with subtle shifts into Tech and Tribal elements adding depth without disrupting the overall groove.
