DJ Joshua publishes his track list for Floating Beats 710.

The latest edition of Floating Beats, episode 710, is presented by Portuguese DJ and producer Joshua. Broadcast via Scientific Sound Asia, a platform dedicated to underground electronic music, DJ culture, and live events across Asia, the show continues to highlight forward-thinking artists and global sounds.

Originally from Évora, Portugal, Joshua has been immersed in electronic music since the mid-1990s. His vast archive of vinyl, cassettes, CDs, and digital media reflects decades of dedication to sound and a deep connection to underground culture.

Over the years, he has explored a broad spectrum of genres, from house and techno to drum and bass and chillout. Even as Portugal’s rave movement slowed in the late 1990s, he remained active, organising grassroots events and collaborating with fellow DJs and producers to keep the scene alive.

After stepping back to focus on family life, Joshua returned with renewed energy, launching Floating Beats, a podcast and radio show that signalled his re-entry into DJing and broadcasting. Since then, the show has become a respected platform for immersive and melodic electronic music with a loyal international following.

In recent years, Joshua has expanded into music production under several aliases, each reflecting a different aspect of his creativity. As K-Joshua, his 2024 Hopeful Mind EP showcased deep, atmospheric explorations, while Joshua Fernand’s Logic Move EP leaned toward raw, hypnotic techno. Under the Joshua Marian name, Chance With Soul (2025) presented house-driven grooves with a soulful edge, and as Joshua Onairam, he has ventured into experimental and melodic directions with works such as Melodic Doubts.

To support this creative output, Joshua launched JFLM Recordings in 2024, a label dedicated to releasing his own productions alongside innovative new voices in underground music. Together with Floating Beats, the label has reinforced his role as a boundary-pushing artist, providing depth, diversity, and authenticity to audiences worldwide.

Floating Beats 710 opens with a warm introduction of deep and house grooves. Kocleo’s Pretty In Pink sets a smooth, deep house tone, while Monfort’s La Musique and Southsoniks’ Smash bring classic house energy into the early part of the set, laying a foundation of rhythm and groove.

The mix then dives into raw techno textures. Adam Carling & Nick De Voost’s Depth Perception and Fuzoku’s Ode To SW8 2JA (Takashi Watanabe Remix) deliver hypnotic intensity, while Justin Berkovi’s Busan To Seoul adds weight with its stripped yet powerful approach. Moy Santana’s Kosmos (Sterac Remix) and DJ Bone’s Take UR Time reinforce the deep, driving momentum central to techno.

Joshua explores diverse shades of electronic sound with Fundamental Harmonics’ Plasmodesma, introducing minimal/deep tech flow, while DCLVIII OFC’s AI Have No Soul carries melodic techno richness. Ian O’Donovan’s Exit Earth provides progressive house balance, lifting the set with melodic progression and forward-thinking structure.

The closing stretch emphasises peak energy and immersive techno. Lunacy Sound Division’s Altruism (Paul Loraine & DCLVIII OFC Remix) surges with peak-time techno force, while The Open Circle’s Drifting ties the journey together with atmospheric techno depth. DJ Joshua once again demonstrates his ability to connect deep house, house, and progressive textures with techno’s hypnotic power, crafting a layered set for dedicated listeners of underground electronic music.
