Bicycle Corporation has unveiled the tracklist for episode 201 of their acclaimed Roots show. Broadcast via Scientific Sound Asia, one of the leading electronic music stations, event organisers, and DJ agencies in the region, the series continues to celebrate the depth and diversity of global music culture, captivating audiences across Asia and beyond.

For over a decade, Bicycle Corporation, the Italian duo of DJ and producer Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano (also known as 6884), has been a vital force in the international electronic scene. Their productions span genres including French House, Deep House, Tech House, and Techno, showcasing their versatility and refined craftsmanship.

Marco’s journey began in the early 1990s with Urban People, a pioneering collective responsible for shaping Italy’s underground House and Techno scene. His creative direction and forward-thinking event work soon earned him a respected name within the country and opened doors to international audiences worldwide.

Stefano, born in Turin, Italy, developed his musical foundation through classical piano, percussion, and drumming, drawing inspiration from Chopin and traditional West African rhythms. His fascination with DJ culture and turntable artistry further shaped his path, blending musicality with modern production techniques.

Together, Marco and Stefano have continually evolved while staying true to their roots. Their enduring partnership and recent return to earlier works, now available on their Bandcamp page, reflect a deep commitment to their musical journey.

Through Roots, they continue to explore and celebrate the sounds that have influenced generations. Their shows blend Funk, Disco, Afrobeat, Rare Groove, Soul, and Brazilian rhythms into a rich, timeless mix that defines the Bicycle Corporation ethos.

Bicycle Corporation opens Roots 201 with vibrant Disco House from Coflo’s Fly Like The Payback and Made You Do It, Look, setting a lively foundation for the show. Gledd and Loaded Honey add soulful and funky tones, while Prince’s Loring Park Sessions 77 channels raw 70s Funk. Roots Festa’s Siggatunez edit of Richie Heaven and Oliver Dollar’s Body Talk brings Nu Disco and dancefloor elegance to the early section.

The middle of the show dives deep into Funky House grooves with Maule, JR from Dallas, and Ella Guru keeping the rhythm tight. Get Up And Dance and Let’s Start The Dance echo the infectious energy of live bands, blending contemporary production with retro warmth. Delfonic and Mister Mushi infuse Funk and Disco edits that feel both nostalgic and modern.

As the mix progresses, the Fatback Band collaboration with Alexny and Azimut’s Don’t Try To Understand amplifies the blend of Funk and Disco House. Block & Crown, Brothas & Sistas, and James Brown maintain the high energy with signature Funky House edits, showcasing timeless groove with updated flair.

The final segment brings soulful closure through Thelma Houston’s I’m Here Again, T-Connection’s Do What U Wanna Do, and Steve Miggedy Maestro’s 25 Hours Everyday. Thommy Davis’s Over Again rounds off the show in classic Soulful House fashion, leaving listeners with an uplifting reminder of the golden era of Funk and Disco reimagined for today.
