Bicycle Corporation has announced that DJ DZRT FRST will be the guest for episode 108 of their long-running Foundations series on Scientific Sound Asia. The station, which functions as an electronic music broadcaster, DJ agency, and event promoter, continues to serve audiences across Asia and internationally with its diverse programming.
Bicycle Corporation is the Italian duo formed by DJ and producer Marco Mei and musician Stefano Ugliano, who also records under the alias 6884. Together, they have released more than 50 tracks and remixes across a broad spectrum of styles, including Deep House, Tech House, French House, Melodic, and Techno.
Marco began his career in the early 1990s, first performing locally before co-founding the Urban People collective, which organised influential events throughout Italy. His reputation grew rapidly, earning him a residency at the famous Pacha Club in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, where his ability to move crowds set the stage for a global career with appearances at clubs and festivals worldwide.
Stefano, raised in Torino, Italy, demonstrated musical talent from a young age. With training in classical piano, percussion, and drums, he drew inspiration from Chopin’s compositions as well as global rhythms such as the West African Djembe. Though his foundation was classical, his fascination with the emerging sound of DJs and electronic beats on underground radio eventually led him to pursue electronic music production and performance.
Despite their international recognition, Marco and Stefano remain conscious of their early beginnings. They have recently revisited some of their first productions, reissuing them on Bandcamp as a reminder of their roots. Their Foundations show reflects this ethos, featuring guest DJs and producers from across Asia and beyond who share a deep connection with electronic music culture.
Episode 108 welcomes Taipei-based DJ and event organiser DZRT FRST, who has built a reputation for sets that move between minimal house and house, marked by groove, funk, and playful spontaneity. His appearance continues the show’s mission of linking international talent with the vibrant underground music scenes of Asia.

Guest DJ DZRT FRST.
This week's guest DJ DZRT FRST is a Taipei-based DJ, producer and event organiser known for his playful and groove-driven approach to minimal house and house. His sets explore the space between stripped-back rhythms and funk-inspired energy, often drawing on subtle references from the 1990s and 2000s, with touches of hip hop, breaks, and UK garage woven throughout.
Having spent time in the UK before returning to Taiwan, DZRT FRST gradually carved out his voice within the local underground scene. Over the years, he has played a wide spectrum of spaces, from intimate pop-ups and small club rooms to large-scale events and festivals such as Ultra Taiwan and S2O. Under his former alias Take Note, he also appeared internationally in Amsterdam, Japan, and Hong Kong, broadening his reach and perspective as an artist.
Now under the moniker DZRT FRST, his focus has shifted towards a lighter and more playful sound. Moving away from darker tones, he aims to create DJ sets that feel spontaneous, funky, and fun while still rooted in the groove of minimal house. As he explains, “I’m just trying to make and play music that feels good. No big plan, just trying to stay consistent and enjoy the process.”
Beyond the booth, DZRT FRST has released tracks and remixes on platforms such as Beatport, where his productions highlight rolling basslines, stripped percussion, and hypnotic house grooves. His SoundCloud showcases themed specials and creative mashups that reflect his versatility and sense of humour. While some of his past work has earned chart positions and media attention, he remains focused on what’s ahead, staying true to the underground ethos of consistency, creativity, and connection.
With his ability to bridge underground authenticity and festival-ready energy, DZRT FRST continues to shape his reputation as a unique voice in Taiwan’s electronic music community. His guest appearance on Scientific Sound Asia promises a set full of groove, surprise, and forward-thinking selections.
DZRT FRST's first Foundations 108 begins with house and breaks, as Megatronic’s Out Of Time and Giralda’s Don’t Look Any Further (Dennis Edwards Edit) ease in with smooth grooves and funk-driven breaks. Menta Sauce’s No Minions Allowed and Jus Mirage’s Viva keep the flow deep and steady, while Matt Docherty’s Get To It introduces tech house rhythms with a Latin edge.
DZRT FRST showcases his own production talents early, with DRTY BBY setting the tone for his minimal deep tech signature. Rossi.’s DJ Lover and Archie Hamilton’s Don’t Need You continue in hypnotic fashion, with deep house contributions from Chris Stussy and Ruze balancing the textures. By the middle of the set, his self-produced tracks FRDY and TKCNTRL highlight his underground sound.
Momentum rises with Obskür’s Can You Dig It and Denis Sulta’s It’s Only Real edit, before Fatima Yamaha’s What’s A Girl To Do (IsGwan Edit) adds UK garage swing. Calvin Harris edits keep the energy flowing, while DZRT FRST’s Do It brings the focus back to minimal deep tech precision. Darius Syrossian’s Moxy Edits 013 and Hector Couto with Dimmish’s Obsession ensure the tech house edge is fully represented.
Closing the mix, Chris Gooding’s Go Stupid maintains the underground drive, before Babyface’s Don’t Stop and Oldboy with Ho Gosh’s There’s A Goblin On The Phone provide UK garage funk. AR:MG’s Cuerpo A Cuerpo adds breaks intensity, and Julian Fijma’s Get Funky keeps things playful. The show ends with Remedy by DZRT FRST and Pinksock, bringing house warmth to wrap up this dynamic set.
Tune in live on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 10 PM to 12 AM Indochina Time (ICT). If you miss the live broadcast, you can catch the replay on Tuesday from 10 AM to 12 PM (ICT).
