Terence C joins Bicycle Corporation as the guest DJ for episode 140 of Electronic Roots, broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia. The station continues to operate as a leading underground electronic music platform, DJ agency and promoter, connecting artists and audiences across Asia and internationally through radio, events and cultural exchange.

Bicycle Corporation is the long-standing collaboration between Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and classically trained musician Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. With a catalogue exceeding fifty tracks and remixes, their work moves fluidly across House and Techno, balancing rhythmic intensity with melodic sophistication and a clear club-focused sensibility.

Marco’s journey began in the early 1990s, shaped by Afro-influenced grooves and Italy’s emerging underground scene. His involvement with the Urban People collective played a formative role in establishing his national reputation before a pivotal residency at Pacha in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, expanded his profile internationally and opened the door to performances across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Stefano, born and raised in Turin, built his musical foundation through classical piano, percussion and drum studies. Influenced by both Chopin and West African djembe traditions, he developed a deep understanding of structure, harmony and rhythm. This background later informed his transition into electronic music and became a defining element of Bicycle Corporation’s distinctive sound.

Together, Marco and Stefano continue to respect their underground heritage while evolving through new productions, collaborations and radio work. Electronic Roots reflects this ethos by presenting a broad spectrum of House and Techno, inviting guest DJs from across Asia and beyond to contribute to an ongoing dialogue of musical exchange.

Episode 140 featuring Terence C extends this vision with a refined, groove-led session that aligns with Bicycle Corporation’s artistic identity while showcasing the depth and diversity of Asia’s contemporary electronic music scene.

DJ Terence C, the renowned Malaysian DJ and producer now based in Shanghai, headlines this week’s edition of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. With more than two decades of experience, he is widely regarded as one of Asia’s most respected selectors, recognised for his technical precision, deep musical understanding and unwavering commitment to high-quality performances.

A defining figure in Kuala Lumpur’s electronic music landscape, Terence played a central role in shaping the city’s house and techno identity. His long-standing residencies at influential venues established his reputation for instinctive crowd reading, seamless mixing and refined delivery, securing his position as a trusted name within the regional underground circuit.

Throughout his career, Terence has shared stages with international icons including David Morales, Fatboy Slim and Pete Tong. His frequent collaborations with John Digweed, particularly as the Malaysian tour opener at the legendary Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur, further strengthened his standing and helped cultivate a dedicated underground following across Southeast Asia.

Prior to the pandemic, Terence co-founded We Love Techno alongside DJ XU, a monthly event series centred around the driving aesthetics of Drumcode and Cocoon. The project quickly became one of Kuala Lumpur’s most respected techno nights, injecting renewed momentum into the local club scene and reinforcing his commitment to advancing the genre.

Terence’s journey began in 1998 under the mentorship of DJ Chris Doss, leading to early appearances at Cubeat and Globar. His breakthrough came shortly after when he supported David Morales’ first performance in Malaysia, a milestone that opened doors to high-profile bookings at Movement Club, Backroom, Nouvo and Atmosphere. Regional demand soon followed, with appearances at Lush in Singapore and Liquid in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2005, he co-founded Altered Image alongside Callen Tham and Digital, a multimedia project blending electronic music, turntablism and live visuals. The act won the Malaysian edition of the Heineken Thirst competition and toured extensively throughout Southeast Asia.

In recent years, Terence has embraced hybrid DJ setups, integrating traditional decks with Ableton Live to expand his creative range and deliver more fluid, evolving performances. His ongoing Movement Control mix series continues to draw strong attention, with recent instalments such as Movement Control 275 highlighting his refined selection and forward momentum.

Now focused on new studio material, Terence C remains a vital force within Asia’s underground electronic movement. His appearance on Electronic Roots reflects both his forward-thinking musical direction and his enduring contribution to house and techno culture across the region.

Electronic Roots 140 opens with a measured, atmospheric introduction as The 18th Floor establishes a melodic foundation. Too Soft To Be Loud and Lakeside Gods deepen the mood, blending Deep House warmth with Afro House rhythms, before Lind tightens the groove through minimal, restrained low-end movement.

As the set develops, The Truth and Once A Child reinforce a melodic yet grounded direction, while Acid Stroll adds subtle acid textures without breaking the flow. The transition into Progressive House becomes more pronounced through Magischer Gummi and Spells, allowing longer arrangements and gradual tension to shape the middle section.

Darker energy arrives with Melancholia and Ask, pushing the mix into Raw and Hypnotic Techno territory. Ancestral Rhythm and The Chant maintain this hypnotic pressure, while Fever Rising and the Spells remix reintroduce Progressive House momentum with a stronger club orientation.

The closing stretch intensifies through Peak Time selections such as Silberschwein and Higher! before Acid Choir brings classic house inflexion back into focus. Loser closes the episode with a deep, driving Techno finish, completing a cohesive journey that balances progression, hypnosis and dancefloor intent throughout.

Tune in to the live broadcast on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT), and catch the replay on Sunday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
