Bicycle Corporation has released the playlist of music for their next 'Roots' show. Scientific Sound Asia radio is the English language electronic music station for Sri Lanka, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, India, South Korea and the rest of Asia,
Bicycle Corporation is an Italian duo of the DJ and producer Marco Mei plus the skilled Stefano Ugliano aka 6884. As a pair, they have released over 50 original works and remixes across the spectrum of House and Techno.
Going back to the early nineties Marco was starting on his musical journey as a disc jockey mesmerised by the birth of Electronic music and Afrocentric music. After his introduction, he began doing his own nights as a collective known as Urban People throughout the length of Italy.
His skills on the decks gained him notoriety and he gained a residency at Pacha, Egypt. His residency at Pacha gave him recognition and DJ bookings internationally and started him on a musical mission around the planet.
Born and growing up in Torino, Italy, Stefano in his early years displayed incredible abilities with music. He studied with passion classical piano, percussion, and drums, and loved his Chopins and West African Djembe.
However, as he grew his fascination with music developed and his main draw was the image of the electronic DJ rearing the crowd. He never knew that those very electronic beats, so hard to get on ‘90s Italian radio stations, were going to launch a very new chapter in his life.
The track list for the next show is laid out below and represents the 'Roots' of their sound and the genres they have drawn influence from in their electronic releases. These genres include Funk, Disco, Soul, Afrobeat, Electro, Rare Groove, Hip Hop, and Afrocentric.
