Bicycle Corporation, the dynamic duo of Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano (also known as 6884), has been a prominent force in the music scene for over a decade. Their extensive collection spans genres such as French House, Deep House, Tech House, and Techno, showcasing their versatility and depth in electronic music.
Marco’s journey began in the early 1990s with 'Urban People,' organising House and Techno events. His influence grew significantly over the years, establishing him as a notable figure in Italy’s music scene. His international bookings have further expanded his reputation globally.
Stefano, hailing from Turin, Italy, showed a natural affinity for music from a young age. His passion led him to explore classical piano, percussion, and drums, with a particular interest in Chopin and the West African Djembe. His fascination with DJing developed as he admired DJs’ skills in manipulating turntables, enhancing his dedication to the craft.
Despite the challenges of performing for large audiences, Stefano and Marco have consistently pushed the boundaries of electronic music, solidifying their place in the industry. Their recent reflection on their initial tracks and the creation of a Bandcamp page underscore their commitment to their musical evolution.
Presented by Marco and Stefano, the "Roots" weekly radio show celebrates a diverse array of genres including Funk, Disco, Afrobeat, Rare Groove, Soul, and Brazilian music. Episode 196 will feature artists such as Fela Kuti, Bobby Byrd, and Bill Withers, offering a rich exploration of Afrocentric musical traditions.
