Bicycle Corporation has announced guest DJ Murphy Kin, also known as DJ Lucy, for his fifth Roots show. Broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia Radio, the English-language electronic music station and DJ agency connecting Sri Lanka, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, India, South Korea, the wider Asian region and a global audience.
Bicycle Corporation is the long-running Italian partnership of DJ and producer Marco Mei and classically trained musician Stefano Ugliano, better known as 6884. Across their career, the duo have released well over fifty productions spanning French House, Deep House, Tech House and Techno, combining club functionality with strong musical foundations.
Marco’s journey began in the early 1990s within Italy’s underground scene, where he worked closely with event crews such as Urban People. Through persistence and a sharp understanding of the dancefloor, he quickly built a strong reputation across Italy, which soon led to international bookings and performances around the world. His global experience continues to shape the forward-thinking yet grounded sound of Bicycle Corporation.
Stefano, born and raised in Torino, showed musical promise from a young age. His early years were dedicated to studying classical piano, percussion and drums, alongside a deep appreciation for the works of Chopin and the rhythmic traditions of West African djembe. This broad musical education would later become central to his approach to electronic production.
Despite his classical background, it was the figure of the DJ that truly captivated Stefano. At a time when electronic music was rarely heard on Italian radio, the idea of creating and sharing those sounds became a powerful motivation. What once seemed like an unreachable ambition gradually took shape through dedication, experimentation and long hours spent refining his craft.
That shared vision eventually brought Marco and Stefano together, giving birth to Bicycle Corporation. Even with years of international releases and recognition behind them, the duo remain closely connected to their roots. Recently, they have revisited earlier productions and made them available via their Bandcamp page, offering listeners insight into the foundations of their sound.
Bicycle Corporation are available for booking through Scientific Sound Asia’s DJ agency, continuing their mission to connect underground music and dancefloors across Asia and beyond.

Guest DJ Murphy Kin.
This week’s guest DJ is Murphy Kin. Never content with standing still, Murphy Kin is driven by an endless curiosity for digging new sounds and musical ideas. With a background rooted in the film industry, his approach to DJing and music production is fluid and unrestricted, treating sound as an open canvas rather than a fixed structure.
Listening to a Murphy Kin set feels like watching a film unfold. His selections rise and fall with intention, avoiding predictable peaks or a straight 4/4 comfort zone. Rather than rushing toward the high point, he prefers a slow, considered build, guiding the listener through romantic rock, classic old-school influences and flirtatious R&B, before moving into disco, indie, rock and dance-driven moments.
Each transition is carefully paced, creating the sensation of moving through scenes, with tension gradually increasing until the music reaches its emotional and rhythmic climax. Naturally positive and energetic, Murphy Kin draws from a broad musical spectrum and possesses a deep understanding of many genres.
His sets often shift effortlessly between hip hop, rock, punk, indie rock and jazz, always focused on capturing emotion through rhythm and contrast. When performing live, Murphy Kin remains refreshingly unscripted.
At times, his selections are shaped by the mood of the room and the energy of the crowd, while at other moments, he confidently steers the atmosphere himself, much like a film director guiding the narrative of a scene. The result is a dynamic and immersive experience, where no two sets are ever the same and the dancefloor becomes part of the story.
