Anonymous Z announces playlist for 47th show with guest Moth1

Anonymous Z and guest DJ Moth1 feature in Anonymous Z's 47th show on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.

Anonymous Z, who played the second hour, is mostly famous in Saigon, Vietnam, for founding Mad Circus Epic parties. He founded Glassroom, Bahrain's first underground DJ community, and led a group of misfits from various origins to organise legal and illegal parties and after-parties remembered as legendary in local nightlife.

His motto then was "They tried to bury us, but they forgot we were seeds". After joining the Banana Hustle crew in their punchy tropical frenzy, he helped develop their unique vibe and, originally a Techno head, developed a taste for digging out distinctive Afro, House, Disco and Funk records.

He complements his selections with hand-picked Techno and recent Indie Dance, while his strong abilities as a selecta opened doors to underground venues including Arcan, The Lighthouse, Broma and Vitamin D after-parties. His non-linear sets are often improvised and driven by the dance floor, moving through varied musical styles with tense, groovy basslines and epic storytelling melodies that play with the emotions.

Guest DJ Moth1.

This weeks guest DJ (first hour) is Moth1, Moth1 real name Sivaraj Pragasm is a DJ and filmmaker hailing from Singapore. He describes himself as someone who puts sounds together to create other sounds.

Fundamentally a cinematographer by trade, his sets never miss to be rich in images and various soundscapes. When you listen to him perform, you could be watching a movie like Blade Runner.

Anonymous Z opens this show with a Dark and melancholic Minimal Techno and sometimes rather icy. Just enough rhythmic progression to get the room ready for a more punchy yet very sensible Ambient and Dub set from Moth1 offering a certain vibe reflecting the anxiety of our time.

Moth1 opens the first hour of Not So Anonymous Episode 47 with Space Drum Meditation, Rambadu and Sindh, establishing a restrained approach to Deep Techno. Exos follows with “Spællt,” a track officially classified as peak-time techno, before Foreign Material and Luigi Tozzi’s edit of Moby return the set towards deeper and more hypnotic electronic material.

Hydrangea and Donato Dozzy occupy the next section before Session Restore, Ben Gibson and Gotshell continue the first hour’s stripped-back Techno focus. Fadi Mohem’s “Rinse” then leads into Stefan Vincent and Feph, maintaining the emphasis on detailed percussion and reduced arrangements rather than broader house styles.

Marcel Dettmann’s “State Of Art” receives Ryan Elliott’s dub treatment near the end of Moth1’s selection before Acronym closes the first hour with “Horizontal Scaling.” Across the sixteen tracks, raw, deep and hypnotic techno provides the clearest common thread, with the Exos track supplying a more direct Peak Time Techno variation.

Anonymous Z opens the second hour with Aki Himanen and Aleksi Kinnunen’s “Dystopian Morning Jam,” another confirmed peak-time techno release, before Barker and Baumecker’s “Cipher” shifts immediately into raw, deep and hypnotic techno. Terence Fixmer follows before Neel and Natural/Electronic.System. take the set considerably deeper with “Sinistra,” which is also officially classified as raw, deep and hypnotic techno.

Aril Brikha, The Black Tone, Klartraum and Baaz introduce a wider range of deeper club forms through the middle of Anonymous Z’s hour. Yotam Avni then brings the programme firmly back to deep techno with “Orma,” whose Stroboscopic Artefacts release carries the raw, deep and hypnotic classification.

MadderModes precede Electrypnose’s “The Sun Winking At The Moon,” which closes Episode 47 with Progressive House rather than techno. The final track gives Anonymous Z’s hour a distinct ending while deep and hypnotic techno remains the principal musical link between both DJs.
