Uncharted Frequency has published their tracklist for their biweekly show on Thursday the 4th of June 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT) and repeating Monday 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT), sharing the time slot with our other biweekly artist Vishnu. Scientific Sound Asia radio is the English language underground electronic music station for China, Vietnam, Malaysia, India and the rest of the Asian region.
Uncharted Frequency is a bi-weekly sound show on Scientific Sound Asia Radio, which is a collaborative initiative between Dhaka, Bangladeshi based Shayekh Mohammad Arif (a.k.a Dr Moonstruck) & Colombo, Sri Lanka based Hersiaz Hasi. This show is a meeting point of experimental & underground sounds from around the world.
This weeks host is Dr Moonstruck, Dr Moonstruck real name Shayekh Mohammad Arif is a DJ and Producer who comes from Dhaka in Bangladesh. Dr Moonstruck is also a composer, sound-collector and Audio-visual (new media) artist.
His productions cite elements of industrial music, noise built provocation and avant-garde electronics and are often composed commentaries on modern society and political phenomena (the regime, the collective momentum, the individual), as well as on the music and culture industries. Very often he builds interacting Audiovisual performance based on site-specific recordings.
He is an active member of the Bangladeshi contemporary art scene and performs regularly as an experimental electronic musician, or with an experimental hybrid setup in various formations: duos and bands and as a soloist. Most of his works include his instrumental performance with ensembles, at festivals such as Birmingham weekender (2017), Transforming Narratives, UK(2019), LEV Helmond Festival 2019, MoTplus Sound exhibition, Vietnam ( 2019), etc & counting.
He is the artistic director of ‘Half Moon Collectives’ in Dhaka since 2016, and resident artist of Delta Tribe Dhaka and also Sound Artist at Soul city arts, UK. He has been signed to eleven international record labels and has collaborated with artists from the UK, Netherlands, Australia, Russia, Mexico, Algeria, Germany, Iran, USA & Bangladesh.
One of the most highlighted achievements of his musical career was to perform at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre in March 2019 as an R&D fellow of the ‘Transforming Narratives’ initiative run by Art council England & British council UK. He also performed at the Birmingham Weekender festival back in 2017.
He also showcased his artistry at the ‘Knights of the Raj’ Launch programme & Opening of ‘Knights of the Raj Exhibition’, and performed in the Historical Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, where he replicated & performed with live instrumentalists to a large audience.
Besides this, he has performed at more than 35 Prestigious gigs including Shakti Peak Festival(Nepal), BUKAN Night 2016 (at British Council), Knights Of the Raj afterparty by the British Council-Dhaka, StartUP Dhaka 2014, DUNMUN fest 2015, ATYA Festival 2018, and many others.
He was awarded as Artist of the Month August 2016 by Colours FM radio, Dhaka, and his sound scores have been played over 50 international radio shows & still counting. He has also been invited by more than 25 international radio stations to present his experimental sound showcase to their show, which he has always executed successfully, enjoy the show!
