Marco Mei, the experienced Italian DJ and producer from Bicycle Corporation, has unveiled the tracklist for his latest radio broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia. As a key platform for electronic and urban music across Asia and beyond, Scientific Sound Asia plays an essential role in connecting global audiences with innovative underground sounds.
With a career spanning more than 30 years, Marco has earned a strong reputation for his rhythmically engaging and stylistically diverse DJ sets. Celebrated for his ability to incorporate Afro-influenced grooves into modern electronic formats, he is widely respected for consistently delivering dynamic and compelling performances.
Marco's musical journey began in the early 1990s in the bustling record shops and vibrant underground clubs of Turin, Italy. His passion for genres such as House, Techno and Afro-infused rhythms led to his involvement with the Urban People collective, a group instrumental in shaping Italy’s electronic music scene through influential events and club nights.
His growing reputation earned him a notable residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, where he began to gain international recognition. Since then, Marco has performed at prestigious venues around the world, including Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City. Each appearance has reinforced his standing as a dynamic and versatile artist.
Marco’s contribution to electronic music extends well beyond his DJ performances. In 2009, he joined forces with fellow Italian producer Stefano Ugliano (also known as 6884) to form Bicycle Corporation. The duo have since released more than 50 tracks and remixes across a range of styles, including House, Techno, French House, Deep House and Tech House, with their work appearing on labels such as Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, GrooveTraxx, Suka and Revox.
After relocating to Taipei in 2010, Marco became a prominent figure in the local nightlife scene, helping to cultivate the city’s electronic music culture while continuing to expand his following across Asia. His regular appearances throughout the region have demonstrated his talent for blending cultures and styles, earning him recognition for both innovation and inclusivity.
In addition to his club work, Marco also presents a long-running radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. Each broadcast reflects his deep musical knowledge and refined taste, offering listeners carefully curated selections that span genres and maintain the same energy and creativity as his live sets.
With performances across Europe, Asia and Africa, Marco Mei continues to represent electronic music on a global scale. Through his work with Bicycle Corporation, his impactful DJ appearances and his thoughtfully curated radio shows, he remains an influential figure in the international dance music community.
DJ Marco Mei kicks off Episode 20 with Italo House and Classic House heat as Everybody (All Over the World) by FPI Project sets the stage for a retro-flavoured journey. Wh0 and Patrick Topping follow up with Girls & Boys and Be Sharp Say Nowt, pushing into contemporary House and Tech House momentum.
Mid-set, he showcases a range of House tunes from Olav Basoski’s French Kiss to Dirty Channels’ Make You Cry. The Disco and Indie Dance selections include Big Feelings by JKriv and Ridin’ Hi by M-High, balancing nostalgia with club-ready flair.
As the mix unfolds, deep grooves emerge through Not Ur Business by Tibasko, Eggg & PORIJ and Is It Real by Tal Fussman. Re-edits and soulful classics from T-Connection and The Three Degrees inject Nu Disco into the mix with reworks by DJ Spen and Partner Music.
Marco closes strong with Living for the Night by Kevin Saunderson and CC Lov by DJ Sodeyama & The People in Fog, rounding off a show packed with genre-spanning House music that is fit for any time of night.
