Bicycle Corporation presents guest DJ Murphy Kin, also known as DJ Lucy, for the latest edition of their Roots show. Scientific Sound Asia continues to be the leading electronic music station, DJ agency, and promoter in Asia, reaching listeners across the region and worldwide.
Bicycle Corporation is the Italian duo of DJ and producer Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Over the years, they have released more than 50 productions spanning the spectrum of House and Techno, including Melodic, Deep, Tech, and French styles.
Marco began his journey in the early nineties, working with event collectives like Urban People. His growing reputation soon made him a familiar name across Italy, and it was not long before his talent brought him international bookings in Asia, Europe, and beyond.
Stefano, from Torino, displayed musical talent from childhood, studying piano, percussion, and drums while taking inspiration from Chopin and the African djembe. As a teenager, he was captivated by DJ culture, which at the time was rarely represented on Italian airwaves.
Determined to pursue his passion, he combined classical training with electronic experimentation, helping to shape the Bicycle Corporation project. Their catalogue features recent tracks such as Electro Future, Acid Vision, and Space Technology, which underline their evolving sound while staying true to underground roots.
Even with their recognition today, Marco and Stefano remain grounded. They continue to revisit and remaster some of their earlier works while expanding their catalogue with new releases, many of which are shared directly with fans through their Bandcamp page.

Records DK]Guest DJ Murphy Kin.
This week’s guest DJ is Murphy Kin, also known as DJ Lucy, an artist whose boundless curiosity drives him to constantly dig for new sounds. With a background in the film industry, his approach to DJing and production is both limitless and unrestrained.
Listening to DJ Lucy is like experiencing a film. His sets rise and fall with cinematic pacing, avoiding predictable 4/4 comfort zones at 125–128 BPM. He builds patiently, beginning with subtle introductions before guiding the audience through layers of rhythm and atmosphere.
Lucy’s musical palette is wide and eclectic. His journeys move seamlessly from romantic rock and classic old school flavours to playful R&B, Disco, Indie, Rock, and Dance. Each transition creates the sensation of stepping into a different movie scene, reaching peaks of energy and emotion.
Born with an upbeat spirit, Lucy embraces an array of genres — Hip-Hop, Rock, Punk, Indie Rock, Jazz — and uses rhythm to connect with his audience. Since 2015, his Ting Ting Disco collective has been renowned for vibrant parties across Taipei and Shanghai, later expanding into other Chinese cities and touring Asia. By 2021, Ting Ting Disco also launched online releases, curating global productions to offer music lovers greater variety.
On stage, Lucy performs without rules or scripts, letting moments, vibes, and atmosphere guide them. At times, he responds to the crowd, while at others, he directs the room with precision, much like a film director shaping a scene.
Episode 157 of Roots with Murphy Kin opens with synth-pop and nu disco, highlighted by Matias Elichabehere’s Seduction and James Rod’s Italo-infused Two Heads Are Better. Joe Morris contributes Jacaranda Skies, bringing more nu disco textures, while Javier Martinez and LCD Soundsystem layer indie dance energy, pushing the set into vibrant, club-driven territory.
Murphy Kin steers the selection into deeper territory with house cuts like Lazaros’ Ge and Hz, while Leiba’s Talk About Acid injects a raw edge. Deep house is represented with Mark E’s Call Me (Dixon Edit) and Marcus Raute & Marsupials’ Crash (Luvless Remix), maintaining a steady underground pulse. Electronica flows throughout, with Statue’s Face and Lukas Poellauer’s collaborations blurring genre boundaries.
Classic sounds also feature heavily, from The New Jersey Connection’s disco groove Love Don’t Come Easy to Oliver Boogie’s soul-funk hybrid Dance Band. Lew Kirton adds a boogie-driven vocal touch, while Madonna’s Like a Prayer (Churchapella) and Lulu’s take on The Man Who Sold The World bring pop rock and glam influences into the mix. These contrasts enrich the set’s diversity.
The show closes with eclectic notes: Manu Dibango’s Afro-folk gem The Panther, Galt Macdermot’s psychedelic Hare Krishna, and an electroclash moment that nods to the alternative. Murphy Kin’s contribution weaves together house, indie dance, nu disco, and electronica with surprising detours into soul, funk, and rock, embodying the adventurous spirit of the Roots series.
