Bicycle Corporation welcomes guest DJ Brendon P for their Roots episode 162, broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia. The station is an Asian electronic music platform, promoter and DJ agency, serving audiences across the region and internationally.
Bicycle Corporation is the Italian duo of DJ and producer Marco Mei and musician-producer Stefano Ugliano, widely known as 6884. Their catalogue spans Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno, showcasing a broad musical identity shaped by decades of experience.
Marco began his career in the early nineties as part of the team behind events such as Urban People. His growing reputation across Italy soon made him a highly requested DJ, and his success quickly expanded beyond his home country as he began receiving international bookings around the world.
Stefano, from Torino, Italy, showed promise as a musician from a young age. He devoted much of his time to classical piano, percussion and drums, developing an appreciation for both Chopin’s compositions and the earthy rhythm of West African djembe.
Despite his classical background, what captivated him most was the DJ behind the decks. In the nineties, the sounds of electronic music were rare on Italian radio, yet Stefano found himself increasingly drawn to them. This passion pushed him to learn production and pursue a creative path that eventually led to the formation of Bicycle Corporation.
Through persistence, dedication and a shared vision, Marco and Stefano built the project into a respected name within underground electronic music. Despite their success, they remain grounded, recently revisiting and re-releasing a selection of their early works on Bandcamp for long-time fans and new listeners alike.
Their Roots series continues this spirit. Every episode brings forward DJs and producers from across Asia who are connected to the regional underground music community. Episode 162 features veteran Singaporean DJ Brendon P, adding another layer of depth, history and musical craftsmanship to the ongoing exploration of global electronic culture.

Guest DJ Brendon P.
DJ Brendon P, whose full name is Brendon Perera, is a native of Singapore and a veteran of more than four decades behind the decks. Known for his low-profile and lo-fi approach, he has built a respected reputation through years of dedication, versatility and deep musical knowledge.
His journey began in 1980 on the Singapore mobile DJ circuit, moving into club work the following year. A formative visit to New York in 1984 exposed him to iconic venues such as the Funhouse, Paradise Garage, Danceteria and Area.
These experiences immersed him in the early New York club scene and introduced him to the emerging sounds that would eventually shape modern house music. Over the years, Brendon has embraced a wide range of genres, including House, Techno, Disco, Nu Disco, Funk, Soul, Lounge and Electronica, developing an instinctive understanding of dance music across eras and cultures.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he performed both in Singapore and internationally with the Juliana’s and Bacchus groups, followed by key residencies at Neo Pharaohs, Venom and NOX. He later spent nine years as a resident at Zouk Singapore, one of Asia’s most influential clubs, before taking on a two-year residency at Kyo and then joining the resident team at the CE LA VI Rooftop Club and Skybar at Marina Bay Sands, where he remained for six years.
Brendon has performed in cities across the world, including Geneva, Gothenburg, Melbourne, London, New York, Miami, Taiwan, Hanoi and Hong Kong. A standout moment in his career was his appearance at the world-renowned Cielo Club in New York in 2010.
As a producer, he has released original works and remixes on labels such as In The Woods, Los Grandes, Reversoulmusic, Audio Parallax, Hotbox Music, Soul Shift, Defected, Rawjak, Eclesia, Issys Groove, Love International and One With Music. With his precise attention to detail and carefully crafted musical style, it is clear why Nicolas Matar, owner of New York’s Cielo and Output, described him as a taste master and one of the best DJs in the region. Brendon P continues to deliver sets that bridge past, present and future, carrying forward a lifetime of musical exploration and club culture experience.
Roots episode 162 by DJ Brendon P opens with a colourful mix of global rhythms as Ossain introduces Nu Disco touches layered with Batucada energy. Todd Terje’s remix of The Secret Field deepens the early mood with future jazz textures and warm ambient flow. The groove moves into brighter territory through the Africaine 808 remix of Mizik Bel, before Jungle Fire’s Comencemos adds lively Afrobeat and funk-driven movement.
The set begins leaning more into House and Latin influences as Tribute To Watson appears in Brendon P’s pitched-up edit, carrying a steady pulse. The Carl Craig remix of Angola widens the atmosphere with tribal house elements, followed by the lively swing of Hippopotamus, which blends disco, Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban flavour. Wagon Cookin’s Mar keeps the Latin feel strong while maintaining a soft house foundation.
A smoother Disco direction develops as Turnaround and the Dave Lee remix of Brother’s Gonna Work It Out bring warm melodic touches. The Reflex re-vision of A Little Love blends boogie and funk into the mid-section, followed by Let’s Clean Up The Ghetto, which adds an uplifting mix of funk and soul. The Dazz Band’s Let It Whip, in Reflex’s rework, lifts the energy further with bright hooks and rhythmic drive.
The final stretch shifts into deeper textures with the FSQ remix of No Couture, giving a refined Deep House moment. The Reflex revision of Date With The Rain adds classic soul warmth before Down To Love Town provides a flowing, upbeat close. The rework’s polished disco structure gives the set a joyful finish, rounding off a session shaped by Brendon P’s signature blend of global roots, soulful edits and dancefloor-ready groove.
