Bicycle Corporation introduce guest DJ Jon Connor for their new 'Electronic Roots' show episode 34 Scientific Sound Asia radio is the English language electronic music station for the Asian region and globally.
Bicycle Corporation is an Italian duo of the DJ and Producer Marco MEI plus the skilled Stefano Ugliano aka 6884. In the early nineties, Marco was starting on his musical journey as a DJ and producer and began doing his own nights as a collective known as 'Urban People' throughout the whole of Italy.
This gained him notoriety and he earned a residency at Pacha. This led to him getting DJ bookings internationally and launched him on a musical endeavour around the planet.
Raised in Torino, Italy, Stefano in his early years displayed a fortitude of abilities with music. He studied with a passion for classical piano, percussion, and drums, he loved his Chopins and West African Djembes.
However, for Stefano that figure of 'the DJ standing in the booth performing' proved more and more mesmerising for the teenage Stefano. He wondered if those very electronic beats, so hard to get on ‘90s Italian radio stations, were going to launch a very new chapter in his life and then Bicycle Corporation was born.
Guest DJ Jon Connor.
This week the guest DJ is Jon Connor, Jon Connor is a British DJ and producer whose roots are based firmly in the UK rave culture. With his background originating with the UK free party scene in the 1990s to the new frontiers of Eastern Europe’s burgeoning dance scene, very few DJs can lay claim to the pedigree and passion of Jon Connor.
A talent as raw as the tougher end of the Techno he has played and produced for the last two decades. His style involves physical mixing, a constant forward momentum, and an unashamed focus on starting parties are cornerstones of a career that has spanned the rise, fall, and resurgence of the global electronic phenomenon.
He is known as the Supertech founder, Bubblejam label bossman, universally respected underground player, and dedicated disciple of the true school of turntablism. His story leaves ego and arrogance in the cloakroom.
It places the focus where it should be music, with sweat saying far more than cliched words ever could. In an age of marketing fakery and brands, Connor’s attitude remains rooted in old-school rave principles.
At the same time, his sounds sit on the cutting edge of fast noise. Enough said, he’ll see you down the front of the party. His show features promos and unreleased material from the genres Hard Techno, Tech Trance, and Techno, enjoy the show.
Listen live on Wednesday 23rd of February 2022 from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT) and repeat Sunday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
