Rumesh, real name Rumesh Peiris, is a Sri Lankan DJ and the host of the Petrichor podcast series. Within Sri Lanka's underground music evolution, he has become known for his affinity with Progressive House.
He initiated Petrichor, an established radio podcast series with listeners worldwide, through which he hosts international talents each week. The preceding week's show appears as this week's second hour.
Petrichor 79 opens with Emi Galvan's Dharma on The Soundgarden, establishing a Progressive House direction. Jody Wisternoff and Mimi Page's For Those We Knew on Anjunadeep then introduces Melodic House and Techno.
Shai T follows with Where The Heart Is on Lost Miracle, carrying the Melodic House and Techno thread forward. Fabri Lopez's There for the Winter on AMITABHA and Hermanez and Eran Aviner's Storyteller on Edge return the programme to Progressive House.
GMJ and Matter's Microclimate on Meanwhile extends the Progressive House selection before Emi Galvan returns with Crabo on The Soundgarden. Budakid's Tunnelvisions remix of Walkman on Exploited brings in Deep House at the set's later stage.
CamelPhat, ARTBAT and RHODES add For a Feeling on Audio, moving back towards Melodic House and Techno. Ivory (IT) closes with Hold Your Breath on Multinotes, ending the programme in Progressive House territory.
